Put a 90 deg fitting in and turn it up out of the ground with a wood post to support it and put a hose bib on it, Run a hose from thereRe: Boondocking near Yellowstone and Grand TetonOK,first, we are knowledgeable about this. You can camp at The Tetons in Sept inside the park, we did 10 days a few weeks ago. Check Rec.gov and see if you can book spots. We had to move three times in that ten days. Otherwise your best bet is Shadow Mountain NF dispersed camping. A very good camp just outside the park past the Mormon Village area. But there are only 15 or so spots there. Otherwise there is a cg at Slide Lake past shadow mountain to the east. Its rather far out and the last mile or so of road is rough. There is another dispersed CG at s cg at something lakes near the Triple X Ranch this is a dangerous spot, if its been raining you will get stuck. For YNP, about 17 miles west of Gardiner is the BLM dispersed CG called Carabella. It is marked a fishing access area but there are 15 or so good spots on the on the Madison River. Good cell phone signal there and at Shadow Mountain. Just to the south, 15 mi from Gardiner is USNF Canyon CG which generally has open spots in the morning. Not a great spot, no cell signal and the road is rock strewn and rough and narrow. We used it will waiting for an open spot at Carablla. O Outside+- the Cody gate there are several nice NF CG. No cell signal. Around Island Park, west pf West Yellowstone there are many NF dispersed cg. We have done a lot of camping at these two parks the last few uears. And we got got in Bridge Lake cg in YNNP for five days this year rethought after the Tetons. They are closed now. The weather can get very bad this time of year.Re: What the heck is ....We are in Cody right now and will be heading south to Utah Friday. But we just cane from 4 days in Bighorn Canyon National Reserve aka Americas Unknown National Park. We camped in Horseshoe Bend cg which has w/e. It is worth a visit but it isn't a NP. We did get close looks at the Bighorn Sheep and Mustangs.Re: Atlanta,GaMy advice used to be just drive on thru. But Atlanta has gotten so bad that we avoid it by driving north thru Alabama instead the last two years. Not great but needs mustRe: Route to McCall IdahoWe came up US 95 a couple years ago but not all the way from Boise. We picked it up coming from Stanley. It's perfectly fine. took itt all the way to Bonners Ferry. We took it down from Bonners Ferry to Lewiston this year, a few weeks ago.Re: Site squattersWell I think we came up with a solution to our issuer, which is with FF USGS and BLM sites and I suppose boondocking sites. We like to drop the RV at a safe spot after some very bad experiences with FS roads, and then take the truck and find a site. WE then go get the TT. We also scout out FF sites the same way. So my idea is to set up our canopy tent and use it to mark the site as taken. Worked this morning, we found a spot at Carabella, on the Madison River and 15 miles from Gardiner-YNP, BLM designated camping site, set up the canopy, went back for the TT as as we were leaving passed another camper coming in looking for a site. That is the second time that happened, we had a like experience at the FF USFS site at Jacob Lake. Got there early and paid for one of the three empty. We to get the RV and passed 3 others coming in. Bird, Worm, Early Our other thought is to carry a traffic cone, collapsible if possible. NOTE: 1) Carabella is back in operation after the flood despite the website calling it a fishing access site. 2) Canyon USFS site on US89 14 miles from Gardiner may have empty site early in the morning, it had 4 or 5 this morning on a Friday too..Re: Site squattersCamp hosts are not the law but the FS ones have a Ranger on call that is and I assume BLM ones do as well.Re: Site squattersWe reserved a BLM FHU site a week ago today, paid and left the envelope flap on the post at the site. Went off to pickup up our TT and bring it back. Came directly back and found another TT already set up in our spot. Which is a pullout next to the river one of only two in the camp. There were 5 or 6 other empty sites available. Knocked on door and told them it was our spot. Got a hostile response. Tyrus out that they took our reservation off the post added their own and gave ours the toss. We paid for one week. Had to get the host involved after a lot of arm waving the finally slowly moved to another spot. Got a "Hope you are satisfied comment from the woman. The guy said the site was empty therefore it was his right to take it. Wonder if they have heard of Class A, B or C campers w/o a towed. The rule of course is that you must spend the first night in the site. Host suggested getting an "Occupied"" tag from him next time.Glacier west side July 2023Right now the GNP west side is a mess. As you enter the park you will hit a construction zone about 5 or 6 miiles from the entrance on the Going to the Sun Rd. For the next 8 or 10 miles the road surface is ground off leaving a dirt road. The dust from this road is the worst I have ever seen, so thick at times that you cannot see oncoming traffic and it will cover you rig in a thick coating The surface is occasionally potholed but not wash board. It will double the time needed to get to Logan Pass The park is VERY serious about the park entry passes and has set up checkpoints inside the park to look at them. After 3 PM you do not need on. Road to polebride requires pass and is not too bad, They really do have very good pastry at the bakery. Afyer Polebridge the road is much worse woth a six mile on lane road with lots of oncoming traffic which can barely squeeze by. White knuckled road.Re: UK Tourist Looking for Florida adviceWhat sort of thing are you looking for? Beaches,Theme Parks? Disney, Sea World etc., Explore Florida? If you want to stay in Florida State Park campground then you need to be making reservations right away. I think the window opens 12 months in advance State park website Be aware that Florida in June will be HOT especially for you from the cool clime of UK. Rain is common every afternoon for thunderstorms Expect 90+ deg F days or hotter and 80 90 percent humidity. Wear hats shorts and light shirts expect sunburn. June is not a prime camping season for tourists in the state but will be for residents. It can be a good time to go to the Keys And of course we drive on the other side of the road.
