Thanks for all of the help! SeanRe: Broken Landing Gear need HELP! 45Ricochet wrote: Fulltimer50 wrote: Look like someone re-drilled the shaft to put in a larger bolt??? I was thinking the same thing. Did you buy the 5er new? I also have Venture gear and snapped a sheer pin while camping. In a pinch I used a regular bolt and forgot about it, my bad. Mine snapped in about the same location. After you get back home you might look into just adding a second motor. Venture sells the complete switch over package I believe. That is the route I'm taking if it ever happens again. Is there a special shear pin for the cross shaft. Looked like a regular black 1/4" bolt to me. Found this Venture repair kit for $45. Going to order it. Also going to see about greasing the gears and screw shaft. I think its dry. The motor has been groaning at different heights.Re: Broken Landing Gear need HELP!Just found this repair kit. My landing gear is made by Venture think this would work being a different manufacturer? I think what caused the problem on mine was the shear pin was loose and wallowed out the hole in the shaft. My thought too. You can see oblong wear of the hole that the shear pin goes in. The shear pin broke last year and I used a bolt I had. Used a cheap bolt so it would break if needed. A repair kit would do the trick. I'll try and find one onlineRe: Broken Landing Gear need HELP! The new legs cost me $275 on the web. Did the job myself and saved hundreds on labor. What brand did brand did you get and where from?Re: Broken Landing Gear need HELP! donn0128 wrote: Not now. Place a jack under that side to support it for the weekend. You do have a hydraulic jack don't you? I held the square shaft against the legs shaft and it turned allowing me to unhook and level. The leg is down and supporting the 5er. I'll do the same to crank it up to get home. Are the legs hard to remove from where they are mounted? Any tips on how to remove it for better access? ThanksBroken Landing Gear need HELP!So I just pulled onto my site for the weekend and while I was extending the landing gear so I could unhook the shaft that the shear pin goes through broke disabling that leg. Pics below. Is this repairable or is a new leg needed? Its electric drive and the side that broke is the far side opposite the motor. Hoping there is an inexpensive fix. Any info is appreciated Re: Diesel vs gas......................Eh... Here in NY Gas & Diesel are $2.49/gal....
