Driving experience of EV > driving hybrid. We'll see what the price points come in at for those Ram options.Re: Truck or TahoeIf the pickup has 6-spd trans and 3.08 gears, the performance will feel very much worse than the Tahoe with 10-spd with any available axle ratios. The pickup's longer wheelbase will likely have better stability, but I would expect a WDH with integrated sway control, both will be great.Re: Silverado 1500 Diesel - First impressionsSome truck stops have DEF in a pump which open up some more options especially when towing/traveling on highways. Pilot/Flying Jay website station search lists prices including DEF for example. Maybe someday GasBuddy will add DEF to their database. I had a 2012 VW Passat TDI for 80k miles. I just bought the jugs since 2.5g would last around 4k miles. The current model Suburban with 3.0L diesel is very intriguing, but our family is mostly outgrowing the need for such capabilities.Re: How many EVs is GM actually selling?I have two EVs and two ICE in my fleet and live in a metropolitan city. I never plan to use public charger within 100 miles of home where I plug in while I sleep. For any day trips under 200 miles, the EV is fine. For those living in smaller communities in their own home, an EV with level 2 EVSE is more than fine again for those 50-200 mile drives where one returns home at night. How many apartment complexes are there in towns of 9k? EV probably does not make sense for those 20 people. :) Would I recommend an EV as only vehicle? Not in 2023 to anyone. However, there are a lot of benefits of EVs plus generally very cheap to own/operate competed to ICE.Re: Small speakers on the wall?I just use a portable Bluetooth speaker with 3.5mm input when watching TV or a movie inside. It is far more useful to take along on a hike, the beach, or sitting around the campfire.Re: Buying a new TT, questions on TV setupThe 8-spd with 3.08 diff is better than 6-spd with 3.42 which in prior years was rated for over 9000 pounds. Power will not be a problem. I do highly recommend spending $300 at a trans shop for a higher capacity transmission cooler with either trailer. Get the one your wife likes better and enjoy camping.Re: Wifi a long way away from RV site. joebedford wrote: 5G and wifi are not related in any way. Well, there are some terms between celular and wifi that are similar and perhaps adding confusion. 802.11 does define both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. So there technically is a 5G wifi protocol which is 802.11AC. 5G in cellar means fifth generation while Wifi means gigaherz. As you said, the are not related in any way. So a wifi extender from 10 years ago or tomorrow for 2.4g or 5g should still work today.Re: Wifi a long way away from RV site.I recommend planning for your own internet and not rely of any public or park. Cell phone, cellular hot spot, or even satellite are the typical solutions.Re: Solar Phone ChargerWhat is the longest time/days you will be camping? How many charges do you expect of phones and camera batteries? 30000mAh portable chargers are cheap. 1-4 of them for under $100 may be enough to not rely on solar for 4-5 days. I recommend that approach. If you want extended charging for 2+ weeks, then I recommend a deep cycle battery for about $100 and a 12v solar charger to top off the portable USB chargers while not in use.Re: hauling capabilityOpen Driver's door, locate this sticker, note what your number says where this picture shows 1579. For dry truck camper weight, I recommend recommend at least 1000 pound under, but closer to 1500 pounds. The sticker on your truck will include anything in the bed and cabin. I expect someone will be driving that has weight, anyone or anything else inside, plus your typical camping gear in the cabin or in the TC.
