We'll check both Geico and Farmers.Re: Insurance and tandem towingApparently no insurance will cover the vehicle being towed behind the 5er. Just for fun, ask. Honestly, it's not worth the risk to us. This is disappointing but enlightening.Re: Insurance and tandem towingThanks for your responses. It is indeed legal to tandem tow in WI and we're now checking other companies.Re: Insurance and tandem towingThe boat does have it's own policy but if tandem towing, they won't insure for liability. That's very important.Insurance and tandem towingWe've been considering moving to a 5er from a TC. Called our insurance company to make sure we would be covered while towing our boat. They will not. So no 5er for us. Does your insurance company support tandem towing or do you just take a risk? Too risky for us. I'm not complaining, our company is great.Re: Furrion appliancesKeystone does boast the camper is affordable...(read "cheap"). we'll be moving from an awesome TC build strong with attention to detail. We would move to this 5er because we want to tandem tow and be within the length laws of WI and have more room. I'm concerned about Furrion as we're not familiar with it. The dealer told us the industry is moving this direction and that a 12 volt fridge is to become the norm. Truth or sales pitch?Furrion appliancesI've just read an old thread regarding Furrion and Lippert companies. We're considering a 5er that contains ALL Furrion appliances, including a 12 volt fridge. those of you who have experience with them, please give your thoughts. it doesn't help to describe them as "****" and "king of ****". We're looking at the new Cougar 2100RK because of its length. Did they go cheap?Re: Considering a fifth wheelThanks much for the replies. The door indeed is 12'. Without being able to put it on our truck, not sure about the assurance of getting through without lowering tire pressure. We have other issues as well. The shed is large but we must fit the 5er, a 22' boat, a largish tractor and its components and a car (the truck would move to the house garage). It's all very dicey. Our lives would turn into a revolving rubix (sp) cube. It's not worth it. Someday, the manufacturers may make a better shorter 5er, in the meantime, we'll love our TC. Again, thanks much.Considering a fifth wheelHello all, we're considering moving from a truck camper to a fifth wheel. Our TC is nice but as we're getting a smidge older and would love to bounce out of bed and easily make it up without a struggle. We're considering the Cougar 2100RK. It's not a top of the line unit for sure but it's short enough to keep us within WI length laws as we will tandem tow our Lund boat. We purchased the TC because at the time length max was 60 ft. This is a very new unit, anyone have any thoughts or info that would be helpful? Our biggest hurdle is to fit this 12' high unit through our 12' shed door. It seems the AC and one of the solar panels are both at 12'.Re: swing out brackets for a PalaminoThank you for the replies. It's a hard top TC not a pop up. The owner is trying to find a bracket that he doesn't have to drill or add additional metal to but it doesn't seem like they exist for a dually. The Atwood site is not very helpful and doesn't say how much space they add. According to the second post he'll have to fabricate something...which is scary.
