We are looking to live fulltime in our 5th wheel for the next 4-5 years. We bought a used unit that had been taken well care of. Not to say that we haven't put some money into it adding things we wanted and replacing some things like awnings. But all in, we have a unit that we feel is going to hold up very well for us and with the 2008 Ford King Ranch Dually we purchased, we're in at under $70,000. Not to say we won't have some issues, but the first owners have taken care of any of the warranty issues and even if we have to replace any major items, like HVAC unit, water heater etc., we're well under what we would have paid for a new RV. Might be worth considering.Re: K-Z RVs, considering a 315RKD DurangoWe purchased a used 2008 Escalade in September. The owner had nothing but good to say about it. They lived in it FT for over 3 years. Hadn't used it much since and decided to sell. We were totally impressed with the workmanship. We shopped around and quite honestly we hadn't seen anything else that came close. The previous owner had done a great deal of research before he bought the Escalade. He said he was impressed with the company, the workmanship, and what he saw at the factory.Re: Think we have found it....Grand design Solitude 365 DEN DeezPanthers1 wrote: momentum rv wrote: Have you checked out the GD Reflection line? They have several BH models that may meet your needs better https://www.granddesignrv.com/reflection-floorplans.php GD is a great company. Vary happy with my GD Momentum. Yes I have, as I stated the normal bunk models have such a small living space, I mean to watch a family movie my kids would have to sit in table chairs. The mid bunk does not offer nearly enough closet space for 3 kids. The mid bunk would be fine if we wouldn't be using this for long periods of time, but being that we will be sometimes staying in it for months at a time, I need space to put clothes for my kids. Thanks though. Someone mentioned the washing machine earlier and that is something I want to think about, but I have been told camper washer/dryers are useless, so I hadn't thought about it much. What are all your thoughts on washers and dryers in campers? Useless or great to have for semi long term? We have a washer/dryer combo in our unit. Purchased used unit and it came with it. It's just my husband and I, so it's okay. If I were going to live it in long term, I would get a full size stacking washer/dryer, or do my laundry at a laundry mat. I think with children, unless it's a full unit, you would be doing laundry ALL the time. It takes a long time, and can't load much into the combo units.Re: Something other than Interstate 95? I agree that this might be the best solution. I'm from Maine, live in NC, but travel all over the SE for my job. Once you get on 95 in SC, it's not bad at all.Re: Dirty Slide-out SealsThe mold is not real bad. Just spots of black. I'm thinking it is due to being wet when they had to put it away to move on. We haven't seen any signs of leaking anywhere.Dirty Slide-out SealsMy husband and I are brand new to R'ving ownership. We bought a used 2007 KZ Escalade. We are doing some sprucing up and want to clean the mold spots off the seals of the slide outs. Can anyone recommend the best product to use for this. The seals look to be in good condition and we are going to use a conditioner, but after we clean. Thank you!
