Never got an explanation. I just cancelled my motorhome coverage.Re: Onan genset removal questionI Have a K series generator that I removed just a couple of months ago. I used a motorcycle jack, which made it quite easy. As for the wires, I found out that they should be taken off at the junction box. There is no other way, since they are part of a wire loom that goes to another part of the generator, so don't pull on that end of the wires too hard. Make sure you also remove the muffler before you lower it, otherwise you will crush it. The mechanic will probably thank you, since it is sometimes a tedious job. He can also bench test the generator easier once it is out and can supply it with gas from a gas can. In fact, my son and I lifted the generator and placed it in the truck of our car and took it home to my garage. I had my generator running in my garage. It is not as bulky or heavy as it seems.Re: 2003 Sunseeker House Batteries diesBe aware that not all motorhomes, especially the older ones, charge the house batteries when the engine is running. If your motorhome is equipped with a Bi-Directional Isolator Relay Delay (B.I.R.D.) device or a Trik L Start, it will charge the engine and house batteries from the alternator, generator, or shore power. Make sure the red switch is in the on position, otherwise, you will not be able to crank the generator, nor charge the house batteries from the alternator or shore power. I would suggest that you first locate the converter/charger, to make sure it is getting power and that power is being directed to the fuse panel. With a multi meter, measure voltage at the house batteries with the generator running, then engine, and then shore power. If the converter/charger is working properly, you should see a change of voltage, indicating a charge. Good luck.Re: 30 amp shore power cordThank you all for your fast responses.30 amp shore power cordHello. I have a Class C Tioga and I've recently had to remove my generator and had to disconnect the shore power cord from the 30 amp receptacle. I took photos before I removed the wires from the receptacle, but I am a bit confused. The shore power cord has three wires, one white, one black, and the third a light blue wire. Can someone please confirm if I can safely assume that the white wire is the neutral, the black the power, and the blue wire the ground? The reason I ask is because the wires coming out of the generator are white (neutral), black (power) and green (ground), instead of blue. I believe I can safely join the blue and the green wires, correct?Re: Fiberglass Repair HelpThere was someone else on this forum who had some issues with the nose on their class C, and they had to remove the entire nose and rebuild the frame. you need to find what caused the problem and correct it, otherwise, any cosmetic repairs to the fiber glass will only return. It was not an easy Dremel job.Re: Tioga Fresh Water TankDifferent styles for different folks. What is best for you may not be best for someone else. We may be God's creatures, but we are all different. Such is life. In 25 plus years of rv'ing, my method has worked for me. Again, my method is not your method. Just saying...Re: Tioga Fresh Water TankMy 2008 Tioga 31M, has 30 gallons. These Class C's did not come with 50 gallon tanks. That said, what be your concern? I doubt too many of us travel with a full tank down the road because it just adds too much weight. We just fill up when we go off the grid. I have never found 30 gallons to be insufficient, unless you dry camp 100% of the time and have no access to water for days and days. You just have to manage the water.Re: Onan 4k Microlite runs 10 minutes, quits, will start later.1. Disconnect the fuel line that comes from the tank in the motorhome. Connect a new fuel line from the generator fuel pump to a gas can with a mixture of one part Sea Foam to two parts gas. Let it run until it runs smoothly. 2. Replace the fuel filter. 3. Replace the fuel line between the fuel pump and carburetor. 4. Replace air filter.Re: Not so obvious - things to rememberThe black tank on my Fleetwood Tioga has a rinse outlet to flush out the tank. Once, at campground, I emptied the tank and opened the water for the rinse cycle. I forgot to turn it off, and after some 20 minutes, I was sitting nearby when I heard and saw a torrent of water cascading from the roof of my motorhome. The black tank had filled up with water and it rose up thru a vent tube to the roof of the motorhome. Luckily, it was all clean water and no one was around to see it.
