I know what the tires are but not sure what the rating is for the axle. I know it has 3.55 gears Your actual axle rating from the manufacture of the axle is probably 10k lbs. Thats what my duramax is. Tires are going to be the weakest link.Re: Does this make any sence? The axles on my WW 5th are far back compared to a newer attidude/cyclone/voltage.Re: Why doesn't the math work?A 3/4 ton truck is a class 2 truck which is limited to 10,000lb. It's just a number on paper. There's no law if you load your truck to 10,001lb you'll be ticketed and towed. The same motor, tranny, rear end, frame is on the 1 ton trucks. Just make sure you are under your rear tire capacity with you 5th wheel hooked up. Which on the new trucks is around 7000lb. Axle capcity is over 10k i believe from AAM. I've read on here DOT can give you a ticket if you are over your tire rating.Re: 16 foot vs 18 foot fifth wheel trailer?Remember that 4 feet or so of trailer is over your bed. Cutting down your overall length.Re: What do all of the letters and numbers mean? Model NumbersWeekend warrior CR3905 CR = Center Refrigerator 39 = 39' living space. Trailer measures 42' not sure what 05 part is.Re: Towing Overweight???The 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks use the same rotors and pads. So stopping isn't an issue with either truck. 3/4 ton truck is limited to 10,000 for registration pursposes. Its the same as a 1 ton SRW with a different rear leaf pack. The limiting factor on a SRW is the tire and wheels capacity. Factory setup is close to 3500lb each wheel/tire which will be a 7000lb max weight you'll want on the rear. (they might be higher now, this was on my 12 2500)Re: Best years for used Duramax?Depend on what your budget is, look into a 11+ duramax. They have bigger brakes, stronger frame, bigger hubs and wheel bearings. Comes with a built in exhaust brake. The the LML motor has more power than previous years. It has over 100ft/lbs more torque than the older ones. Downside is the emissions unless you delete it. ;)Re: Any electric brake experts here?I replaced all 3 6k axles with dexter brake assemblys. Mine didn't stop well either. I have the controller at max power and it barely slowed down the trailer. It took 4 - 400 mile trips to where i can finally back down the controller to 6. They just need time to seat in. If you went 2000 miles already but all freeway, you probably hardley used the breaks.Re: Toy Hauler PicturesJust got back camping from jawbone this past weekend. WW 2008 CR3905 Flipped axles and 235/85/16LT Tires. Lets see what the weight police say Here's my old trailer. Didn't have enough space for the toys. WW 2009 SLC3705
