Sam, where is the trans temp taken, Outlet line to cooler? in the Pan? it makes a difference in the temp of course. On our last Dodge an 03(3500) with a mild upgrade the temps were IIRC a lot higher, trans going down the road 170's, EGTs climbing the Siskiyus I had to back off to get the EGTs below 1200, and boost would run somewhere around 22 pounds. So it sounds like your doing fine with those temps, although Clear Lake to Redding is not very mountainous IIRC?? Our last two TVs were a 95 Dodge 2500 SRW and a 2003 Dodge 3500 SRW, Towing an ALFA 31RL and currently towing a Big Country 36'. We have towed many a mile with the Dodge trucks and I love the Cummins engine. We currently tow with a Ford F-450 and seriously I don't know how we managed NOT being pushed off the road by crosswinds in some of the weather we've been in. The dual rear tires on a dually are MUCH more stable, and those that say they make no difference are only fooling themselves. Are there drawbacks to a dually, sure just as there are with a SRW, it's all up to what you are willing to live with.296Views0likes0CommentsRe: Common for campers to feel a campground is a repair center?
Our last workcamping gig...the owners had a standing rule that we could NOT help someone with a problem. We could not so much as even enter their rig. I've pumped propane in my duties as a camp host.....somebody does not know the propane regulations as well as they should. Horizontal propane tanks are exempt from the OPD regulations.
