So these rigs behind a Peterbuilt are all busted up?Re: Winterize clothes washer? There really is no good way to winterize it without power. Antifreeze has to get in the valves and pump. I don't know about Whirlpool, but the solenoid valves on the Splendide are grossly expensive. I broke the hot water solenoid valve and I think it was $125.Re: Ford F-350 axle ratings Winged One wrote: ah64id wrote: As you can see the trans ratio is very important, and probably why Ford doesn't offer a 3.73 or 4.10 in the 250/350 pickups anymore. They have chosen to do most of their gearing reduction in the trans. Except that they do. 3.73 and 4.30 in the DRW. Or did you mean just in the SRW? Though you can get a gasser with those gears in a SRW. Do you have the 3.73? If so what RPM are you turning at 75 mph? If I'm supposed to have 18% taller gears than you in final drive, it sure doesn't show up on the mpg. You 6.7 guys are doing far better.Re: Ford F-350 axle ratings Winged One wrote: They are building for 2015 online now. Maybe the 2014 didn't have the 4.30 available? That could be. I'm anxious to start seeing the 2015's on the lot so I can try one out.Re: Ford F-350 axle ratings Winged One wrote: Atom Ant wrote: I could only wish I had a 3.55 :) Even the newer DRW Ford only gets as deep as 3.73. The days of the 4.10 like mine are gone thank goodness, as I believe the higher torque of the newer engines has far overcome the gear ratio in favor of fuel mileage. Building a f350 shows 4.30 as available on a 4x4 dually. Oh wow - you're right. That is weird, as the specs show that the 4.30 are only available on the F350 gas, or F450 if I'm reading it right. 2014 Ford SpecsRe: Weighed the truck and 5er todayPretty cool link Unyali!Re: Ford F-350 axle ratings jpjulian wrote: We purchased a new Excel Winslow 31IKE last October. It has a 17,500# GVWR. Our F-250 diesel pulls it just fine but a trip to the scale yesterday shows we are 240# over our RAWR of 6100#. I can not find a dually, Ford, GM or Ram, anywhere in our area so am considering a SRW F-350. Problem is those available have axle ratios of 3.31 or 3.55. Not Ideal nor either the GVWR of 11,500#. Those of you who have a Ford F-350 SRW 2013-2014 model year, what is your rear axle rating and with what axle gear ratio? Thanks Joe I could only wish I had a 3.55 :) Even the newer DRW Ford only gets as deep as 3.73. You might be selling yourself short even with a 1-ton SRW. That pin could get heavy in a hurry over the years and a few trips to Camping World. Ours overshot the 7K RAWR on our 1-ton SRW if we tried to add any water.Re: Microwave/Convection Combo -- Good idea? R12RTee wrote: Atom Ant wrote: The RV microwave/convections are certainly not robust design for RVs, in fact, they are the cheapest you can get. The one on our last rig was replaced twice. Sounds like this Frigidaire brand in this one is haunted as well, as quite a few folks are having issues with them starting on their own. But I would get it again. If it quits under warranty, I'll get another. If it quits out of warranty I'll put in a better one. In all honesty, we rarely use it for anything beyond the microwave. The DW prefers the regular oven. Our coach came with the GE Advantium with the Speedcook and it is not the cheapest you can get but it is a damn good unit. Baking with the convection oven is much better than a standard oven and with only one year of full time use it is holding up very well. Well, you did pay a little more for your rig than a lot of us, so I would hope you did get a higher class of cheapest. ;)
