Believe it was rt 2. We took a ride upon to Yaak, so pretty. Certainly worth the look!Re: Cedar Rapids, then what?We went to Guettenburg, Iowa, nice state park there called Pike's Peak and across the river is Prairie Du Cheon. Beautiful area.Re: Rutledge, MO flea marketgood luck, been in MO for 6 years and have found 3 restaurants I consider good!Re: Yellowstone in SeptemberFavorite time of the year in Yellowstone thus far, though I would like to do a winter trip. It's on my bucket list!Re: Glacier NP to Iowa (North route)Took the northern route out 2 years ago. everyone said stay south of Medora and then go west and connect with 2 in MT. to stay clear of traffic from Bakken Oil boom in ND. Traffic was zero. Enjoyed the ride. Didn't have an issue with fuel stops. Stayed in Havre at a parking lot behind a gas station/casino, for 1 nite as a rest stop. Went past eastern entrance to Glacier and entered at western side. Hadn't been to park in 30 years. So thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Stayed in Columbia Falls for a week, and did the park every day. Great time.Re: Oregon HolidayWe did that trip 2 years ago. We left Aug.14th and got back home on Oct. 1st.Started out Mo. to MN., then to ND through MT. On to ID , to Columbia Gorge, then to Astoria and down the coast, last stop Bandon. We stay 4 places on the coast so we could explore in 50 mile radius. then we went to CA, and headed over to Carson City, left there and traveled RT 50 across NV, and took 80 to Iowa and went south, home. Could have done more sightseeing in NV, and took on CO but was homesick by that point. Beautiful scenery, a trip to remember.Re: Alaskan campground north of anchorageOne more question: When does the sun go down in late August?Re: Alaskan campground north of anchoragethanks everyone, appreciate the info!ColoradoIf you were going to head west , thru Kansas to Colorado, and wanted to stay out of the heavily populated areas, where would you go?
