All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutions2020 Travel PlansWell, I am ready as is most of us to get back out "on the road again" (Que Willy Nelson here). We bought a puppy and my wife and I were going to fly out and pick her up and fly back. This was non-stop flights Orlando to Salt Lake City. Last, Wednesday evening, just 6 days prior to our departure, Delta Airlines informed us our flight was cancelled and they cannot re-route and credited us on the fare. After discussions with each other - we decided that a trip of this magnitude (Tampa Fl to Salt Lake City UT) is why we bought our new RV last July. So we are leaving this morning (Friday Jun 12) to drive out and pick her up. We have been planning a trip to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone for about a year and have about 12 other people meeting us. Our oldest Grand son is traveling with us in the RV. We will depart and spend time in Minnesota to visit my daughter and her family. We plan to depart July 15 for about 52 days on the road. During the last week of September I have to be in Yuma AZ for about 7 weeks (100% job related) and I take my RV out for that (Tampa to Yuma AZ) Looks like my travel year is fairly well planned out!Re: US HighWay 30 IdahoThanks all...US HighWay 30 IdahoI have a 40 ft Class A towing a Honda civic. How is Highway 30 from Montpelier to McCammon for travel?Washington StatePutting my summer trip together. I am planning on departing Tampa Fl (around July 4th) and heading out to the Northwest, specifically Washington State. I will have our 12-year-old grandson. His parents will fly out to meet us and then do their thing in a rental vehicle and then fly back to Tampa. We will probably have around two - two and a half weeks of sightseeing. Looking for ideas on where to go and stay. Not interested in Seattle. When we return to Tampa, it will be thru Minnesota as we must be there for a grandson's birthday. Looking at taking 20 on the return trip. Thanks...Re: I-10 Thru HoustonHome Skillet - thank you so much for nailing the route. Worked like charm!Re: trip plannerRV Trip Wizard X4I-10 Thru HoustonI have heard that there is an eastbound I-10 bridge that is down to one lane in the Houston area. There are some severe backups. Any truth to this? If so, what is the best way around it? ThanksRe: RV park near Tampa Busch GardensX3 Hillsborough River State ParkUSS AlabamaIs this easy access using 40 ft RV? Any place to park?Re: I10 Fl. to Ca.I have made the drive from Tampa FL to Yuma AZ twice a year since 2008. That would be 4400 miles round trip, and I almost have I-10 memorized. In comparison with other interstates it is not bad. Louisiana is tough as I had my rear bedroom window shatter from the rough road. The bridge someone mentioned is no big deal. Weather can be unpredictable. I wouldn't worry about the snow as you can easily anticipate it coming to you. Wind is a bigger issue - especially in the west Texas to Arizona stretch. My dog and I spent three days in a Louisiana hotel as snow had closed the Interstate during on January trip. Houston, San Antonio and El Paso are all horrible due to crazy traffic. I tried to time my drive so I would pass thru early AM before rush hour. It took me three and a half days to drive. Usually towed my Honda. Watch fuel state in West Texas as they can be far between where you can get drive a big rig into.
