Rick Jay wrote: hedgehopper wrote: Our RV must fit in a 27 ft long space. I just checked the specs and the length of the 26Y is shows as exactly 27', so hopefully it'll fit into your space. :) As to finding the twin bed model, the RV you're looking at is 15-20 years old. At this point, you could fairly inexpensively remodel the bedroom area to put in the overhead cabinets you wish to have along with replacing the queen bed with two twins. I know it's easier if you could find exactly what you're looking for, but if you can't, it shouldn't be too hard to change the floorplan to fit your needs. Check out Home Depot and Lowe's for free-standing overhead cabinets. Good Luck, ~Rick Re: Are RV forums dying?Have possibly Facebook groups taken the place?Re: towMaybe on the roof? ;-) Just kidding, but I assume the driveline would have to be disconnected as it is likely an automatic.Re: Fire Dutch_12078 wrote: I suspect an actual fire would be a great motivator for making it happen when really needed. Could not have said it better myself.Re: Tent ThoughtsWe used that tent for the last few years before going back to and RV; it's great. Yes, it does not have a fly. No, a tarp isn't stylish but it did the trick through Sierra thunderstorms, three days of rain in Colorado, etc. We joke that tent was a marriage saver: any tent you can put up without having to fight with your spouse is worth its weight in gold!Re: hitch or spray liner first? TucsonJim wrote: Just a word of caution. I had my liner put in, then installed the hitch myself. Since it was hot in the garage, I made the mistake of working in shorts and sandals. When I drilled one of the holes for the hitch, the flaming hot metal and liner material decided to spin off the drill and land between the bottom of my foot and the top of my sandal. Holy $&!T!!! I stood up real fast and hit my head on the rail for the garage door opener. Holy $&!T!!! I think the combination of metal, liner material and friction got that little piece of debris up to about 3 jillion degrees. So I jumped out of the truck and put my foot in a five gallon bucket of cold water. Ahhhh, that's better. Just then the DW walked into the garage to see me with my foot in a bucket of water and my scalp bleeding. She just shook her head and walked back inside. All in all, it was a great learning experience installing my own hitch. Jim, are you sure you were not found as a baby with the other half of this amulet? I relived many garage-jobs-gone-bad with your story. Still laughing!Re: any one currently using CB radios when traveling??Uniden Bearcat 980SSD, though I'd have no trouble with a Cobra or Galaxy model either. "Ball" style mount with a 3' adjustable Firestik antenna. Mounting it in a newer truck with center console and lots of storage cubbies was a little challenging. Look into RAM mounts, not cheap but they have a lot of options. Mine tucks between the dash and the armrest console while also holding a mount for a tablet. We use them from truck to truck when traveling, as well as in the 4WD's on the trail. Language is a problem with two kids 9 & 11 in the back, so I try to keep a ready hand on the volume control! ;-)Re: ID this plug?I've seen those on tent trailers... they look like 1/4" mono plugs, like for a guitar.Re: RV trailer running lights wiring issueOn any 12 volt vehicle system, consider it a problem with a ground until proven otherwise, and check them first. :)Re: Radio Shopx2 for the idea of asking a local trucker or at a local truck stop.
