JimbeePower inverter questionHey All, Silly question regarding power inverter battery consumption. If I'm using my portable 400 watt power inverter to power a 75 watt TV, does the inverter draw the full rated wattage at all times or will it only draw the amount of power it needs to run the TV? I have 300 watts of solar to re-charge the batteries during the day, but it would be nice to watch TV at night for a few hours without worrying about draining the batteries too much. Thanks!Slide room skis source?Hey All, We have a Rockwood 5th wheel and I noticed a rip in one of my slide room plastic skis. It appears to be an "L" shaped plastic piece that wraps around the bottom of the slide room and is screwed to the slide wall bottom edge. It looks easy enough to change, but I don't know where to find one! Any ideas for online sources? The dealer is 200 miles from my house so popping in to order one isn't convenient. Thanks!Re: Pin boxMake sure you read the manufacturers set up instructions and take full advantage of this awesome feature! I have the same style pinbox on my Rockwood 5th wheel. By moving the pivot point back your unit will behave like a much shorter trailer making it easier to get into tight spots!Re: Catskill Mountain area campgroundsRipVanWinkle Campground in Saugerties, NY has nicely wooded sites and full hookup. It's the only campground I've stayed at that has digital HD cable at the sites, which is great if weather has you stuck in the camper watching TV.Re: Catskill Mountain area campgroundsACZL, I think the campground your thinking of is North/South Lake state pk near Hunter Mtn. It's a beautiful park, but dry camping only and not bigger rig friendly. I just returned back from this park 2 days ago and ripped off my TV antenna while backing in. Had to tape a cereal bowl over the housing to keep the rain out!Traveling with the roof vent openHey All, Occasionally when on the road I see folks traveling with the roof vents open on their trailers. Made me think now that summer's here, does it really help keep the coach cooler when on the road? Just curious how many of ya'll travel with the vents open and if it helps? Thanks!Fresh water life, how long?Hey All, Any idea how long fresh water stays usable after topping off the tank with chlorinated public water? 2 days? 2 weeks? Longer? I just sanitized the system and I'm getting ready to head out for 5 days of dry camping. Gonna bring the water jugs and top off as needed. Is filling the tank ahead of time what most of you do, or do you wait until the morning you leave to fill up the tank? ThanksRe: 1/2 Ton Towable 5th WheelHowdy, For what it's worth I currently have a 2018 Rockwood 8301ws 5th wheel. This line of 5th wheels is marketed as 1/2 ton tow-able. But from my real world experience towing this camper, I definitely wouldn't be comfortable towing it with a half ton truck. I'm currently towing with a 2015 chevy 6.0 3/4 ton,and wouldn't want to tow it with a softer sprung/smaller wheeled/lighter framed truck. Yes, a half ton truck is capable of moving the camper from point "A" to point "B", but it would be scary/un-nerving ride. Many of the roads here in the Northeast are very rough with extreme dips that when encountered at highway speed will test your vehicles stability and your patience. Consider a bumper pull or a 3/4 ton, your family's safety should come before your budget!Re: Solar PanelYou need a controller to manage the power you're collecting. It's worth the extra money to spring for an MPPT controller. You'll net more power and will be better able to see in real time what you're harvesting from the sun!
