We have a small trailer, so should be no problem, just wanted to know.Transmission temperature questionI have never towed anything with an automatic, but I know the temperature is critical. I will be towing with a 2009 Tahoe next weekend. At what temperature should I be concerned? Other than keeping it in T/H mode, is there anything I can do to make the transmission work better while towing?are hybrid trailers cold in winter?I don't do well in the cold, I don't mind it while I am out and about, but sleeping is another thing. When I had a pop up (old and broke down) I would get cold from the bottom side while sleeping. Has anyone else had this problem with hybrids? Is there much that you can do about it? I went from the pop up to a fifth wheel, now I want to go to something a little smaller.Re: brake controllerYes, the proportional is what I was referring to. I was looking at both the P2 and P3.brake controllerI have a time delay brake controller now. If I switch to a progressive brake controller, will the difference be an eye opener, or just noticeable? I am comfortable with what I have now, but looking at a longer trip in a couple weeks, and thought about upgrading. Will it be well worth the money, or should I just spend the money on fuel?Re: made my truck tow much better!Well, I currently have a regular cab truck, so no room for the wife and two kids in car seats. The trailer is up for sale and we are going to find a bumper pull to pull behind my wife's Tahoe, so that will put us all in the same vehicle at some point. As for right now, got to make the best of what we have.Re: made my truck tow much better!Yeah, she followed one time, that was no fun, had to hear about it when we got there. Did you know you drove 55 when the speed limit was 65... Yes I did learn to tow better. Next trip, which will be about a four hour drive, I will leave about 3 hours ahead of her and let her catch up. That way if I break down she can pick me up as she drives by.made my truck tow much better!I finally found the secret to make my truck tow my 5er much better. Normally when we go camping, my wife and the kids jump in her suv and I follow with the truck and trailer. This time I told the wife to go ahead and I would meet her at the campground. Much better! I could go at my own pace and did not try to have to keep up with her. It is amazing how much better my truck tows when I am not comparing it to an unloaded SUV going down the road, it was quite relaxing actually. Did the same thing on the way home with equal results. Normally after a trip camping I have new truck fever and I start watching the net for a deal on a truck. Not this time! I guess I can keep my old truck and avoid payments for a little longer.Re: my new tow vehicle - well, maybeThanks for all the input! I have pulled all sorts of combinations, from tent trailers behind my classic Volkswagens, to tandem enclosed trailers behind a one ton. The worst experience I had was a 24' enclosed trailer behind my 08 f-150 4.6 3.23... talk about tail wagging the dog!my new tow vehicle - well, maybeWell, I purchased my wife a 2009 Tahoe yesterday, and I am thinking this may be our next tow vehicle. I still have my truck, but I am thinking I will get rid of the fifth wheel and get a bumper pull so we can use the Tahoe to pull with, this would allow us to all ride in the same vehicle when we go camping. The Tahoe has the 5.3l and six speed transmission, factory tow kit installed. I will have to do some research on what we can tow with the Tahoe, but it should pull a fairly good size trailer with ease. Those of you that drive a Tahoe, or have in the past, what type of trailer did you pull with it?
