I will look for the vent hose you describe.Re: Onan LP 3600 Generator - Hard StartOf course, remove the cover of the gen set. Roughly in the center of the unit you will see a metal box about 3" X 3" (the propane regulator, I think). Mine has the legend embossed on it "Onan OHV". In the upper left corner you will see the tube attached to this box. I loosened the plastic hose clamp with pliers and just pulled off the tube. I couldn't reach the other end of this tube, even with my needle nose pliers so I just tapped the tube with the pliers and some debris popped out. Viola! That did it. JoeRe: State of trip planning softwareRVing for 10+ years - 100,000+ miles. I had been using Microsoft Streets & Trips for many years but it was discontinued about 2 years ago. I still have the 2013 version on my laptop but the POIs are outdated. I, too, found RV Trip Wizard the closest to MS S&T. JoeRe: Onan LP 3600 Generator - Hard StartSOLVED! After other fixes didn't work (topped off oil level), I went online and Googled "Onan LP Generator - Hard Start". A poster said a common hard start problem is caused by a clogged vent tube (about 1/2" outer diameter rubber hose - mine was cream colored). I pulled off the easy to reach end and tapped the hose a few times. Some dirt seemed to come out. Result - now works! Thanks to all who had responded. JoeOnan LP 3600 Generator - Hard StartMoved by me from Forum Tech Issues: We have an Onan 3600 LP generator in our 2010 Four Winds Chateau. Need to hold start button long time before start. Red light flashes rapidly on start button. Oil level about 1/2 full on dip stick. We are currently traveling in the motor home. Now in Durango, CO. Any thoughts on how to remedy? Thanks. JoeRe: Risk of down-shifting?I put over 100,000 miles on a 2004 40' Fleetwood Revolution with exhaust brake and Allison 6 speed. I always manually downshifted to 4th or lower on a steep downgrade 5% or more. No issues.Re: Hard Start - Onan 3600 LPMea culpa. However, I respectfully suggest that the title of this Forum is confusing as evidenced by the number of postings made in error by many of us.Re: Hard Start - Onan 3600 LPThanks. Working now. Oil now topped off. I found I need to hold stop button down for a few seconds to "prime". Didn't have to do that before but we are now at 7,100 feet.Hard Start - Onan 3600 LPWe have an Onan 3600 LP generator in our 2010 Four Winds Chateau. Need to hold start button long time before start.
