Some what of the same problem we had on a Keystone toy-hauler in Sacramento ca on I5 a couple yrs ago.. Really bad road there... The pin box broke lose enough to drop the 5th wheel body down on truck bed much, damage to truck.. The front cross member was completely sheared into on one side ripped lose on other side..Pin box twisted enough that I had to replace it. and yes we had the back loaded with a RZR. This was a fine Lippert frame...we also had a Cougar at the time and got rid of both Keystone products.. Never again.2.8KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Short Box + 5'VR = Disaster????
Here is one more reason to go short bed for me anyway.. Have Cameo rounded nose and still use a PullRite Super Glide. also have shop with hoist to lift it when not in use With my Double trailer setup, I'm dead on the CA 60'length with a short bed GMC And no worrys in turning or backing..433Views0likes0CommentsRe: Changing furniture
We also didn't care for the sofa sleeper in our Mountain Air so we changed it out with a full House Leather sofa....How did we do it?? We opened the emergency escape window then blocking it in the up position in the living room and stuck the forks of a forklift in there.. Loaded the sleeper on it end ways and out it went... Thanks Gene This is a excellent letter to any state office, Very good clarity and to the point... I totally agree that if we want to get any rules changed regarding any towing issue, it will have to be thu this process.. I have the same problems here on the left coast, but mostly allowed not always legal in all west states... I have inquired myself as to the reason for rules againist it but still allow it.. I have recevied two [2] citations for double / triple towing in the past 30 yrs...1 in AZ and 1 in CA. Both were dismissed when I appeared as directed...No reason was givin but they did say it was a GRAY area I still double tow [5thwheel and ball hitch RZR tailer all under 65'] from WA to AZ thu OR, CA,and UT_..and Yes I have CDL. retired O/O trucker for 40yrs... Of all my yrs on the road, I have NEVER seen a accident with a RV double trailer yet Now I'll proabaly get nailed this trip... Just my two cents worth!!!! Thanks Rich259Views0likes0Comments
