Chris Bryant wrote: If it’s there for a while, lower the hitch on to a jack stand, crank up the jack and add more wood. Reverse to hook back up. Or put the front stab jacks down- on blocks. I have a farm jack that I would use to hold the tounge up and raise the jack to put more wood underneath.Re: Hitch jack fully extended: Should I be nervous?I would add more wood so less of the jack is out. When we had our TT I had to use 4 treated 6x6 inch post pieces that I stacked like a pyramid. I also put two pieces stacked under the front stabilizer jacks to add more stability.Re: Pull Through or Back in sites? Which do you prefer. If we’re just passing through and only spending one night we like the quick in and out of a pull through. If we’re going to be there awhile then we like the back in.Re: Why Would Anyone Choose Above Bed Fifth Wheel Rails?I put rails in my truck because I think it is a more secure way to use my Andersen hitch.Re: Who needs a toy hauler? That Dutchman looks like it’s about to break in half.Re: Short bed or not?I have a 1t short bed with an Andersen rail mount hitch. No chucking or clunking and it weighs about 40 pounds. I have never come close to hitting my window with the front cap. I have a MorRyde Orbital pin box and have it locked out.Re: Andersen Ultimate #2 or just the UltimateI have the steel version that pins in my rails in the bed. To me it just seems more secure being pinned in four spots instead of just one with the goose ball. I don’t have to worry about dents or deflection of the bed floor. If I had the pucks I’d buy the adapter to pin the steel hitch in.Re: Just got back! You made it across Wisconsin on Hwy 2 before the flooding. About two weeks ago it washed out near Ashland by heavy rains. Glad you had a safe trip. Hwy 2 across Minnesota to Montana is on my list for a trip some summer.Re: Anderson ultimate 5th wheel hitchI have the rail mount Andersen and love it. It’s easy in and out of the truck. No chucking or clunking. I bought the rail mount not because I don’t have the gooseneck setup in my truck but because it looked sturdier when pinned into the truck. Probably not a big deal but I like having four points of contact with the truck, not just one with the ball mount. The small handful of failures I’ve heard of were the ball mount Andersen.Re: Awning lights won't turn offDoes it also have a switch where the tank monitors, slide out switches etc are?
