All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: The ArkWe stayed at Whispering Hills RV in Georgetown, KY. It is about a 20 minute ride to the Ark, right down the highway. It was a much nicer campground than the ones that were a little closer to the exhibit. There is a WMA right next door with hiking trails, and a great BBQ joint just down the street called, Babe's BBQ.Re: Visible wants me to upgrade to new planI got the email about the new system for both of my Visible phones. The new system is pushing the 5G network capabilities. Well, one of my phones can only use 4G networks, so I don't see any advantage to the "upgrade". Maybe if they offer me a trade-in for a 5G phone, then I'll jump onboard.Re: America's first automated RV park ken56 wrote: Honestly, I was not bashing this idea. I personally don't care for it. Would I use it? Certainly if it fit my needs at the time. There is a place for all ideas....like electric vehicles and automated RV parks...oh, and next will be fast food establishments. You will order at a kiosk and the robot cook in the back will make your order in no time...then you can use the code on your receipt to open the box it gets dropped into. Totally secure and contactless. I prefer mom and pop places to eat myself, so I don't care if people use things like this. There is a niche for everything. Wow, I like your attitude! :) I wish today's politicians thought like that.Re: conceal carry permit SDYou're better off to stay in the county of residence. Other than that it is up to the sheriff of the county you apply in, and surprisingly, they do deny applications. Also, as of July 1st, there is no fee for the permits anymore. https://mylrc.sdlegislature.gov/api/Documents/Bill/234627.pdf?Year=2022Re: Sioux Falls areaI haven't been to the State Park there, but there are a few campgrounds around. The Good Sam one and the KOA one are right off of I-90 - I mean, within eye shot. I've never stayed at either of them. Tower campground is right in the city. If you stay there ask for the South campground. That part has grass and trees. The other part is just blacktop. There is another campground South of the city. I checked it out. It looks good from the birds eye view of Google maps, but it has gravel roads and is very dry and dusty in person.Re: Generator boxIt's a niche market. You won't find many choices. What you want is custom work and it will be pricey.Re: easier panel removal for water pump access--how to do it?VelcroRe: RVers and Pheasant huntingI think this topic is in the wrong forum. I hope I can find it again! I take an RV to go pheasant hunting almost every year. SD is my favorite destination. The biggest problem is finding an RV park that is open. Many of them close in October, and those that do stay open may have to close when the weather gets too cold. Last year we had to leave November 1st because the temperature was forecasted to be in the teens for the next week, and they shut off the water. Most of the time I hunt "small" areas by myself. Sometimes I meet up with friends to hunt larger fields. I hunt the Indian reservations, as well as State land. This year I'm going to camp in Mobridge. I'll be there from Opening Day until I get frozen out. I'd welcome a few fellow hunters and RVers to get out with.
