We are trying to save for that combination in a couple of years. Maybe you won't have to add much, that Ram chassis is tough. What tires are you planning or are you set for awhile?Re: Host Cascade and suitable truckQuote "And speaking of the act of towing, the 2020 Ram HD pickup features a stronger high-strength steel frame with wider front rails." https://www.autoevolution.com/news/spyshots-2020-ram-hd-pickup-truck-says-cheese-to-the-camera-121709.html Wondering what this will do to payload and GVWR. I am not sure but doesn't the chassis cabs have a wider front rail now?Re: Host Cascade and suitable truck JimPH wrote: My 2016 Dodge Ram 3500 DRW Long bed Diesel Laramie post sticker says passengers and cargo weight not to exceed 5679 lbs. It has a GVWR of 14000 lbs. This is impressive payload by Dodge and that's with the Diesel. I like GMC but have been swayed by the Dodge/Cummings setup. Really don't want to go into chassis cab at this time. I am hoping that with the 2020 redesign this payload will go up #400 but that may be pushing it.Re: Host Cascade 10'6" Double Slide NEW PLAN?Bumping this as there seems to be lots of interest in this unit. Host has a video now with the single recliner and couch config and it gives a good look at this option. Seems great for just two folks. Area13 has one now with this config and is discussed in the other Host Cascade thread. I am in Houston Texas area and there is not much choice to see them. RV show had some smaller Lance units and they seemed nice. Gazillion TT units but very limited TC showing. There is an Austin RV show this weekend and there will be a Host Mammoth to see. May make a quick jump to see it. On the Cascade floor plan one thing I like is the rear dry bath with the window. When you enter the unit you don't see the head right away. So keep the updates and viewpoints coming as this unit seems to be gaining interest. I know it has my attention. :BRe: I hate to do this: New Years 2018 with the AncientsThat was done very well! Absolutely stunning photography! Nice report! :)Re: 2019 Host CascadeI think with all that stuff you need an enclosed trailer.:) So when towing a trailer with the offset rear door, do the stairs clear the trailer tongue without angleing the units? It seems like it will but I can't find any pics of it hooked up and lowered. Curious if an extended trailer tongue would be required for clearing steps with a WD/sway system.Re: 2019 Host Cascade work2much wrote: Area13 wrote: Qwkdraw21 wrote: the AF are in high demand, well built TC. the waiting is a killer though, I know we are driving our sales rep crazy trying to keep up with the changes we keep making. It's great that Host goes the extra mile to accommodate everyone's needs and wishes, something we found out doesn't happen with the other TC brands. That's truth. I was on the phone asking Randle about my 2k geni fitting in the outside storage area where the onan would go. He walked over to someone else and they said it will work with minor modifications. He immediately added it to my build sheet, done. Took like 90 seconds. This makes sense. The area above the genset compartment is more than generous for the utilities that are provided for water, power, dumping valve cable, 120v shore power cable, jacks cable switch. It's a bunch of stuff but that lid could easily be raised. When fitting it for my own use I considered reworking it myself to increase space. It's awesome that Host is so flexible! New to this so this would be a vertical increase not a horizontal correct? It would also allow for more Lithium packs if you are heavy into solar and want extra capacity. Nice to see Host is easy to accommodate a customers minor mods.Re: 2019 Host CascadeNice choice Area13! Sorta new to this TC world and found the Cascade info and threads. We are looking at it in about a year. Really like that layout but was not sure on the couch and single chair configuration. So I can see that for just me and the wife, that makes a good option over the dinette and double recliners. If you had more family then the other option mike be better. I have seen the floating table in the Host video and it looks great. When you say cushy couch can you say it's a lot more comfortable than a dinette? It sure looks cushy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=14&v=lDexhqVF880Re: Moab - New VideoMoab is nice, been there many years ago. We will get back! Nice video!
