If this is the case you really should think about installing a smart mode type converter/charger unit. The Progressive Dynamics models are very popular among the RV Campers. I changed out my WF8945 to a PD9260C a few years back. This recharges my 50% discharged three battery bank in around three hours time using smart mode charging techniques. ... Roy Ken FYI, the WFCO 8945 that you changed out was a 3 stage charger WFCO 8945 Perhaps the reason you are seeing faster charge rates with the PD is because you went from a 45 amp charger to a 60... ??Re: Any Reason To Get A WDH?I have an F350, I believe the manual states that any hitch weight over 600lbs requires a WDH. Not sure why. Guessing it has to do more with the hitch itself than the axle, tires, springs etc.Re: 2008 ford?I've got a 2009 Lariat approaching 100k. No problems with mine.Re: Snake oil rv products vs must havesMust have: Cordless drill for stab jacks; electric tongue jack, Fantastic Fan, vent covers, battery disconnect switch, good set of tools, back up camera, webber Q120. Forget-about-it: Bal-x chock, cheap chairs, low pressure propane for BBQ hookup, Outdoor shower.Re: New trailer first oopsI know a guy who thought he had enough height to clear a log with his bumper while backing up solo. He had enough room for the bumper... but not for the gray water waste line. Cost him $500 in repairs for the pipe and crushed propane fitting. I hear he had to make up a crazy story about wild animal gangs, vandalizing the trailer in the middle of the night or something, to explain to the DW how it possibly could have happened.Re: Are you happy with your Oregon-built Keystone Trailer? Lowsuv wrote: I have a 2002 Komfort , ordered new . Built in Clackamas . My 4th RV . Very well built and troublefree . Not as well hyped as the Arctic Fox . But every bit an equal . I shopped and researched a very long time while owning an RV . It came down to Arctic Fox and Komfort . Either is a good choice . I got the best deal by shopping a factory order with 5 Komfort dealers . My local dealer met the lowest price for the identical trailer . I ordered in late April and picked it up in mid June of 2001 . The trailer was registered as an 2002 model . There has been no reason for me to move on . The Komfort is a little heavier and I use a duramax to tow it with . I do believe the Komfort plant in Clackamas, OR was shut down by the parent company Dutchman. The Pacific Northwest has a lot of clean, fast moving, mountain water. It's not the icky, brown, murkey, yuck, that you see in other parts of our country.Re: Alrighty gents... and a few ladies... looking at an 09 F350Wait... I'm confused. I thought this thread was about the 6.4. I didn't think the 6.4 had a Bosch system. I thought it was the Siemens 2 point high pressure system. Am I wrong?Re: Alrighty gents... and a few ladies... looking at an 09 F350I own a 2009 F350 6.4 Lariat w/Nav, I have about 97,500 miles on her. All of the emissions equipment is still in tact. Here is what I can tell you: She is VERY thirsty. I have gotten as low as 7mpg towing an 8000lb trailer into a headwind. I probably average about 9 towing. On the highway empty I am ALL the way up to 13. Yes that is sarcasm. Around town empty I'm about 11. When I bought this truck I thought my mileage would be a lot higher. Now there are internet reports of people who delete the emissions equip and add a tuner and they see their mileage increase. However, I also read that a majority of people who have catastrophic failures are the ones running deleted with a tuner. So I made the decision to keep it stock and eat the mileage for hopefully better reliability. We will see how that works out. And while I haven't had any problems or issues with my truck (knocking on wood), I would recommend an extended warranty. Any type of repair is going to be "cab off" and expensive. Get the warranty. There is a lot of good information out there. But my best advice is don't be afraid just because it is a 6.4 Ford. Navistar beefed up the 6.4 to correct the issues from the 6.0. There were radiator problems but I believe those were corrected by the 2009 model year. These trucks suffer from the 6.0 reputation and therefore don't have a huge demand. Which means that you have a lot of negotiation power. The main problems with the 6.4 stem from emissions equipment. These are pre-DEF but post DPF. That is why they are so thirsty. Change your filters early/often and you'll be fine. Just my opinion.Re: HELP! I'm building a custom travel trailer.Good luck with your adventure! Here is a blog that I came across about a guy who started full-timing in a Casita and moved up to a NASH. You might find some good information from his experiences about what it's like to live "off-grid" full-time. He ultimately moved up to a small Nash (heavy duty off road frame) made by Northwoodmfg. http://www.simplelivingandsimpletravel.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
