All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsBest Company for Extended Service Plan (ESP)First of all, I know that a lot of people think that ESP's are a waste of money and not worth it, BUT, I am not handy or mechanically minded. Whenever I have ever tried to do something in the past, I made it worse or broke something. Besides that, I am a Newbie who will be picking up a new Rockwood 2205S in a few weeks. I just received a quote from the Good Sam ESP for 6 years for $1313 with $300 deductible. That works out to be about $219 a year or $19 a month. At that price, it would give me peace of mind in case of a major problem. That said, I was wondering which company might be best for an ESP? ThanksAnyone Installed a Bigger TV?While we are out and active during the day, when it gets dark, we enjoy watching movies/shows. That said, we are planning on replacing the tv in our new Rockwood 2205S trailer, which we will pickup in a few weeks. We know that you have to replace the wall mount and make the support wall bigger/stronger, but we would like to hear from anyone who has actually done it. We will also be adding a sound bar too. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. ThanksUsing a Cellular Tablet?I am a newbie in the process of buying a travel trailer. There are several apps for rving that I will need and use. Looking at them on a cell phone isn't appealing to me. Samsung, and probably others, have a 8" and 10" tablet that also has cellular and wifi. I was thinking about getting and using it primarily for rving--finding campsites, and it can be used with RV Life/Trip Wizard as a RV GPS. Of course, it can still be used as a regular tablet. Not being technically minded, I would appreciate any comments/suggestions about using a cellular tablet for rving. ThanksRe: Any "Real" Unlimited Plans?I really appreciate all of the comments/suggestions. I am "senior" who only carries a pre-paid cell phone for emergencies. I tell you this so you know that I am NOT up-to-date when it comes to cell phones, plans available, and technology in general. So, I now know more what I can do when we do start travelling. Being retired, I don't have to have internet everyday. Besides not being technical, I am also not rich. That means that I don't want to spend a lot of money and buy equipment that I won't know how to use or install. Right now, I stream/download everything through my computer, and then watch via hdmi cable on my 75" Sony 4k tv. Everyday, I am downloading movies/shows (mostly tv shows). For us, the internet has made the whole world available to us. We watch shows/movies for all over the world-Korea, Japan, Germany, Russia, Australia, England, and Thailand to name a few. We don't mind reading subtitles. I don't keep track of my usage, but recently saw that I downloaded about 20 gigs, which was a slow day, and I am sure that I occasionally download a 100 gigs a day. I have probably 12 TB on external hard drives saved up, which sounds like a lot, but probably 60% or more we won't like and will just delete. When we start traveling, I won't be able to continue as I usually do, but we won't have to worry about not having anything to watch. We are planning on taking 1-3 months trips, and then return home for a month or so. I will find one of the better "unlimited" plans at the best price, and then I will just have to play catch-up on downloading when we are at home. Again, thanks everyone for helping me get more current with what is available.Re: Any "Real" Unlimited Plans? Not a Troll, just someone who enjoys watching movies/shows. Sure, I can stream/download SD, but what is the use of having a 4K tv. Personally, I don't watch anything under HD, 1080. 4K definitely requires more data. Some 4K movies can be almost 100 gigs. Things might change once I hit the road. Someone suggested do other things, and I will, but come nighttime, I enjoy relaxing and watching movies/shows. Thanks for all of the suggestions/comments.Re: New Truck Buyer Needs HelpThanks for all of the comments/suggestions.Any "Real" Unlimited Plans?Within the next couple of months, we hope to hit the road and looking for “real” unlimited data for internet while traveling. Things might change, but we probably stream/download 50 gigs a DAY. So, we really need unlimited plan. Any suggestions? ThanksNew Truck Buyer Needs HelpIn the process of buying a Rockwood 2205S trailer, UVW 5004# CCC 1686# for a total of 6690#. Now, I need to buy a tow vehicle—properly equipped half-ton truck. Not being mechanically inclined, I usually buy new for the warranty, but new prices for trucks are too high for me. I doubt that I could find anything less than $37,000. For that reason, I am looking for used in the $20,000 range, but not being a “truck” person, I am not sure where or how to look. I have looked on Craigslist, carmax and other internet sites, but not sure how to make sure that I find a truck that has the capability to tow. For instance, how do I know what the axle ratio is? Any comments/suggestions for a new truck buyer would be appreciated. Thanks
