I've done all the regular fluids, brakes, etc. Just wondering if the rear suspension needs periodic replacement.Replacing suspension partsMy tow vehicle and trailer are both 10 years old. I'm wondering how one knows when, and what parts if any, need replacing as vehicle gets older? I'm approaching 80,000 miles on the truck. Still pulls just fine, but I'd like to be proactive (if it's not already too late for that)preventative maintenance. I'm specifically referring to the parts that make my truck a 3/4 ton vs 1/2 ton, not regular wear items like brakes, tires, etc.Re: Holy sagging water tanks, Batman! I get your point, and I agree. My only point was, that if they were of a mind to "fix" the situation which they created, That situation being an oversight of what constitutes necessary support rather than a conscious decision to risk their customers' life and limb, the fix would be easy and cheap on their part. I agree they are not of a mind to do so. You raise some valid points on what happens when the water tank is mounted so shodily. My point was, and is, that the supports in place are adequate to do the job IF they use a platform material sufficient to hold the weight. Seems to me if their brackets are up to the task, and I believe they are, then it should be a no-brainer on the next step. That shouldn't include thoughtlessly throwing a piece of OSB in there unsupported in the middle and crossing their fingers. It would be easy and cheap enough to come up with something more appropriate to handle the task. The more I think about it, I might just give them a call. And, we'll see if I'm right they don't care or not. Bet I am. There is an easy fix, "Install the Lippert designed water tank support platform" The Lippert platform mounts by two bolts one one side and the oppsite side is floating. This is done to not distort the mounting flanges during high loads. The Lipert design works when the Manufacture, (Winnebago) uses it.Lippert Platform I have that on my Pilgrim and it collapsed tonight after I filled the tank for the first time in 8 years.Re: RG6 Coax Bill.Satellite wrote: You will find no noticeable difference in signal quality at the satellite receiver with a short run of RG59 or RG6. It's simply not an issue. If you want to run 50+ feet you may see a slight drop in signal (still not likely enough to make a difference). If you want the best quality cable, then use RG6 but if your coach has internal RG59 you can use it without a second thought. In my 15 years as a custom AV installer I have found problems caused countless times from a customer trying to hook up some of their own equipment and simply replacing a RG 59 cable as short as 6'. Especially when they use low quality premade cables (Radio Shack or Walmart variety). Will it work? Yes, sometimes. Is it just as easy to avoid it altogether to eliminate that possible issue? Absolutely.Re: RG6 Coax Bill.Satellite wrote: Whether the coax in the fiver is RG6 or RG59 you should have success and I would not be concerned about what's inside. RG59 is NOT recommended for satellite use. It is not the same as RG59. It has a smaller center conductor, dielectric insulator, and outer shield, its signal quality is not as good as that coming from the RG6 (even if it still delivers acceptable performance for CATV). Plus, the RG59 does not have a foil shield, thus rendering it useless for satellite feeds or cable installations, and totally rules it out from reaching the GHz-level signals that the RG6 is capable of.Re: Wife fell in love with 5th wheel...I have an F150 milo wrote: soundslikefun wrote: Saw a speaker at last weekends Minneapolis RV show mention something around 40% of towed RVs are overweight for their tow vehicle. If that is true I am frightened to be on the road with all these vehicles unable to stop. Alrighty then...let me try and understand what you are saying.... in your statement you said "mention something" is that cuz your not sure of exactly what the speaker said. Could the speaker have been talking about 40% of the RV'ers being overweight and not the RV, hmmmm. Hard to believe that 40% of all RV's are over loaded. Surely RV'ers are not that stupid.. then again... maybe they are. Oh and another thought DwnSth...whatever you do, never, never, never ever tow a 5er with a little tiny 1/2 ton. Nothing smaller than a HDV. SHHHH don't tell anybody, but I tow a 5er with itty bitty 150, but what do I know. :? Actually it was 40% of 5th wheels and a higher number for TTs that I don't recall the exact number so I just threw out the 40%. I'd totally believe it and see it every time I pull into a CG. It's always 1/2 ton owners believing the commercials that their brand of truck is the biggest baddest.Re: Wife fell in love with 5th wheel...I have an F150Saw a speaker at last weekends Minneapolis RV show mention something around 40% of towed RVs are overweight for their tow vehicle. I've looked and numerous LED lights and don't quite get the differences. I see some with lots of very small chips and some with fewer, yet much larger chips. Which is likely to produce more light? I've ordered a few of the cheap ones from China to try to find the output I am looking for only to have them turn black and fail, so I know I'll need to get the more expensive ones. I know I don't want the blue-white and would like a warmer white.Wisconsin Dells -JuneHeading to the Dells this June. Stayed here in hotels many times. Not familiar with the campgrounds. Traveling with 2 early teen children. We will be doing all the typical tourist attractions so campground is mostly just a place to sleep. I see some campgrounds offer tix/discounts for attractions. I'm assuming these may be less desirable locations? Any suggestions or reviews appreciated.
