If you go over Fontana Lake and through Stecoah you will have to deal with some curves. It really isn't that bad though. Going up the mountain between Fontana and Santeelah/Robbinsville you will find that it is a slow haul. After that you will have no problems. If you are willing to travel about 2 hours I would suggest going to the Nantahala Gorge and checking out Cherokee. The Cherokee Harrahs casino now has card dealers and even craps tables. You will love the gorgeous views in this part of North Carolina. The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is also west of Asheville. If you want a few more suggestions, let me know. The Great Smokey Mountain Railroad is out of Bryson City in Swain County so that is a good option as well.315Views0likes0CommentsRe: Campground Amenities vs lower prices
I tend to lean towards an affordable rate versus the amenities. I can remember the days when you could get a full hookup for $10 or $12 a night. Sadly, those days are long gone. Even if things do not work out perfectly I feel as if I can handle a few days without wifi or cable.562Views0likes0Comments
