If you wish to limit generator run time, you'll need batteries and they will drain over time even when not being used. You could bring the battery home and keep it on battery tender. My fridge runs on gas but needs a spark from the battery to fire it up. Same with furnance. I stay mostly in state parks with limited genny run times (about 2 hours) which isn't enough to charge battery fully so I don't know how long it takes a genny to charge batteries fully. Also, water and sewer. You didn't ask about those but sewer is the reason I need to move the TT every once in a while.Re: Woot! Let there be A/C!Go in your house! Small inconvience!Re: Strangest thing asked to borrow Jim Shoe wrote: Not while camping, but when I was a hospital corpsman on an aircraft carrier, we often had new sailors stop by to borrow a couple of fallopian tubes, or our buddies in the ship's galley were always being asked for 20 feet of chow line, or asking the flight deck crew for a bucket of prop wash. With a little ingenuity, you could keep a new sailor walking from bow to stern all day. :) As former USMC and female I find this hilarious! I would have gladly given up the tubes!Re: Humidity at NightI love dry Canadian air. Please send it to Vermont, it's been in the 70s dew point for weeks and nothing is going to help it other than moving into a shopping mall.Re: anonymous postersSpam email and unwanted contact. Less so here than other forums, so big props to admin here.Re: Questions about RVingI can totally relate. A combination of dry camping and electric hook ups will definitely get you thru New England cheaper than a hotel. And knowing you have everything with you is comforting. I've found truck stops (free) and destination combos to be cost effective.Re: woman travelling aloneOf course I carried a weapon on active duty. Didn't always have the bullets, tho.Re: Quickest and easiest hot wing sauce, 2 ingredientsFrank's original with melted butter. They also make a version that doesn't require the addition of butter, but I like to control how much butter is added. The amounts are listed on the bottle, I used about half the butter in the recipe and let the cooked (baked) wings soak a bit longer in the sauce.Re: Erie, PA to Grand Isle State Park in VermontI'd go 7 to 2 and skip the whole NY side of things. I live in Vt and have stayed at Grand Isle many times. A class A will be a rarity there. There are other vt state parks along the way, check out vtstatepaeks.com and make sure you can access them because some are out of the way and 4x accessible only.
