All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsFlying J / RV LanesI'm finally healthy enough to get back on the road and I'm planning a family Road Trip to the Black Hills/ Rocky Mountain National Park this summer. My Son will be traveling with me in his brand new 30' Jayco Travel Trailer. He is a newbie when it comes to towing and I'm trying to plan fuel stops at Flying J's so he can easily negotiate the RV Fuel lanes. I note that the Flying J individual websites ( several that I have researched) do not mention RV Lanes and I wonder if they may have done away with them or I have unfortunately just run across a few that don't have RV Lanes ??? OR....did some of the Pilot take on the Flying J name....???HWH Jack does not go DOWNI have had my share of issues with HWH Leveling Jacks but this is a problem I have never encountered before. My right rear Jack will NOT come down. Any advice is appreciated. NOTE: Did you see the "Announcement : ★★READ BEFORE POSTING HERE★★" located at the top of this forum? Norris or Cumberland LakeNot having many responses concerning Dale Hollow seasonal campsite, I now ask the same concerning Norris Lake area or Lake Cumberland. I'm looking for a seasonal site for next year. I have never been to the area and I am seeking suggestions . I plan to take a Fall trip to the area to look around. ANY help is appreciated . Thanks !!Dale HollowLooking for a seasonal site on or near Dale Hollow Lake Ky / Tn. Planning a fall trip to "look Around", any ideas or leads would be helpful as I've never been to that area. Thanks !!Re: Shawnee State Park DownTheAvenue wrote: Why don't you just call the park and ask them? The reason ,as most experienced RV'ers know, is that the people at the park give you the same info that is on their website, which is not always accurate . Most of the employees do a great job, but most of them do not own a Motorhome. I thank you for responding, but I'm looking for a RV'er who has been there and can give accurate advice/reportShawnee State ParkLooking for info on Shawnee State Park near Portsmouth,Ohio. All reviews that I have found are dated. Specifically need to know if any of the "Walk-in sites" will accommodate a 37' M/H. I'm going to be going to the State Golf Course nearby for 3 days. Or If you know of any other campground close by that might work for me, that info will be greatly appreciated . ThanksRe: Geneva or Presque IsleWe recently spent 3 days at Geneva-on-the-lake state park. The campground is a typical Ohio State Park Campground. Some nice shaded sites with electric only, very small shower house (only 3 stalls on the mens side) which cried out for cleaning and updating, grass is almost non-exsistant in the shaded sites so if it rains there is lots of mud. The beach was not at all to our liking, rocks in the sand and the "floor" of the lake was a combination of rocky sand and or mud.Lake water quality (cleanliness) may be a issue for you The town of Geneva was a big disappointment for us. If your into fast food and/or alcohol it may be for you. Very limited shopping . The whole place seems to be "caught in the '40's & '50's. We did not visit the State Park Lodge but passed by several times and it did look impressive from the street. The entire town can be done in just a few hours. The municipal golf course was a bargain if you golf but other than that it is not a place we will visit again. The nearby "RV Resort" is overpriced & over crowded. We have not visited Presque Isle, Pa....We have visited Presque Isle, Maine tho...that's another story..... Just our opinionRe: Fishing Bridge rv parkWorst campground I ever been in !! And I've been in more than most ....Sites extremlely small. We had difficulty getting in & out of our toad because of having to park along side our unit ( and no! We are not obese).... I'm one of the few that did not enjoy Yellowstone, too many people and traffic congestion. And we visited the last week of September after the summer crowd. I can't imagine how crowded it is during the "high" season. Good Luck !! Glacier National Park in my opinion is much, much better than YNPRe: Campgrounds RV Parks Cincinnati Ohio AreaAt I-71 exit 45, @ route 73 , which is 45 miles north of Cincinnati there is a 1000 Trails RV Park that is open to the public. Easy off & on to I-71. Not all sites are FHU but chances would be good of securing a FHU since your traveling on a week day. Being from that general area, I think it would be the easiest off & on access for you and keep you out of rush hour traffic the next morning. Not any convenient grocery stores in the "close" area so stock up before arriving. Someone had mentioned Winton Woods Campground off I-275. Although a great RV park it's a little off your route and probably 30 minutes from I-71, plus would put you in traffic the next morningRe: Sunman, In: Lake in the Pines Campground Or Versailles SPI dropped out of Thousand Trails a few years ago as the Campgrounds that I used were very average, or even sub par. During my experience they were allowing anyone to camp in their "Preserves", one of the reasons I left.
