I did a search on cleaning the fresh water tank but I am not coming up with anything other than dead links.. does someone have a link or can someone tell me how to clean my water tank.. it seems like some bleach would do it but I am sure there is a correct procedure.Re: Honest feedback on fuelI have a GMC 2500HD with the 6.0 motor and allison 6 speed automatic. The little I have pulled my camper I get 10-11 on flat ground/rolling hills going straight up the mountain it goes down to about 7-8 MPGRe: First outing coming up.. check lists? donn0128 wrote: If you have a smart phone or tablet there are apps for just that. We have been using RVchecklist for several years and like it a lot. BTW do a search using the search function at the top of the page for the correct method of sanitising your potable water system. I will do that thank you!First outing coming up.. check lists?I recently bought a 2000 22' Terry bumper pull. I have cleaned it from top to bottom inside and out. Replaced what was broken etc.. I purchased a generator. and charged the batteries up. I now need to rinse the winterizing antifreeze out of the tanks. I think I will fill the water storage with bleach water a few times and rinse. My question is What do I need to do to prepare for the first outing coming up next month. I will be taking it to the foot of the mountain and leaving it for about a month during bear season. Does anyone have check lists they use before going somewhere? before leaving it somewhere? and anything else I havent thought of which is probably a lot?TT tires! What Ply tires do you guys use on your trailers? Mine is a 22' so not super heavy, but I will be off road a little. right now it has 2 4 ply and 2 6 ply neither of which are adequate in my opinion. Just wondering what you guys use.Re: Double towingMy hunting partner is a cop here in town and he looked up the statute and the only limitation is length I can not exceed 85 feet with a maximum of 2 trailers. Then obviously if I exceed 26000 give then a CDL is needed. I'm going to have a hitch welded to the back of my TT frame.Re: Weight distribution hitch downtheroad wrote: First, there are a ton of weight distribution hitches out there..some incorporate sway control, some have sway control add ons... What brand is yours? Also, depending on the loaded tongue weight of your trailer and the receiver on your truck...a weight distribution hitch 'might' be required to meet the weight rating of your receiver. Air bags will not accomplish this. I believe it is a Curt.Re: Double towing hawkeye-08 wrote: If you do this, plan your route and parking carefully. It is not fun to back up when towing double. If you do backup, get someone to take video so we can all share in the entertainment. HAHAHAHAH I willWeight distribution hitchMy TT came with one. I understand its purpose for helping level out the ride and distribute the weight better. However I have a 3/4 tom GMC with air bags so I can level the truck as much of as little as I want. I have a buddy who claims it helps with anti sway.. is this true? I dont see where its going to do much.Re: Double towing RAS43 wrote: IMO you should not use a bumper mounted hitch for pulling another trailer. It is not strong enough for that. Have a hitch mounted/welded to the frame of your trailer. And be ready for comments about whether you should double tow with a bumper pull trailer. Just be sure you can do that in your state and be safe. I have been double towing since 1997 but with a 5th wheel and a boat. I will edit the post thanks
