I'll bet that wouldn't last that long or be that bright. I know, LED's don't draw a lot of power, I'm just saying 1.5 VDC isn't gonna drive a lot of light for very long. We have a set of icycle lights we bought last yr that fit across our 14 foot awning. They're the same set-up with 1 battery. They charged during the day and stayed lit all night long for a week. We found them VERY satisfactory....especially for watching the skunks romp in the site during the night!!!!;)Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos Merrykalia wrote: If my smoke alarm does goes off - I remove it from the ceiling by twisting it, and lay it beside the sink. That way, when I begin to clean up, I will remember to replace it. :B :BRe: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos mizdiny wrote: I stuck 2 of those small push button battery lights on each side at the head of our bed in the TT. They give off a soft light. Now when I wake up and want to read in the night, DH, sleeps peacefully on without being disturbed. :) Good idea, Mizdiny!!!!!Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosI don't know if I posted this before or not....but: DH took a small 2 or 2 1/2 gallon sprayer (think garden fertilizer sprayer), painted it black. He then replaced a wand with a kitchen sink sprayer. It's kept full of water, in the sun. We always have warm water to wash grandkids' (and our) hands and/or feet after a day camping. We attach a kneehigh nylon to a nearby tree full of the slivers of leftover soap from the shower at home. And attach a dishtowel to a tree limb with a small rope. No more messing up the rig or using up all our water!Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosWOW! Denise -- what GREAT ideas! And I learned something - hadn't thought about the stuff getting dusty and being too dirty to "cling". THANK YOU!Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosThat sounds great! But do the special zip lock bags cost any more than the regular?Re: Your Favorite Boondocking Pics pkjr wrote: This was taken maybe 4 years ago when I took my first TT to Lake Pleasant, AZ. Oh Wow!!!! I love this one!Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosThis hint isn't really for camping -- however, it MAY come in useful if you're camping and have to do some hand sewing! I read in a magazine that if you lick the needle EYE instead of the thread, the thread will go right in thru the eye. I didn't believe it -- but I can't see all that well (those needle eyes get smaller every year) so I thought I'd give it a try. And by golly -- it WORKS!Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosUse car polish/wax and wax the inside of the toilet bowl. The "stuff" will slide right on down without hanging up. Works great on the inside of sinks and the shower, too.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosFor the seamstresses: Instead of wetting the end of the thread to thread a needle, wet the NEEDLE eye! It's amazing how easily the thread goes right in that eye!
