Have you ever seen how scared to death a dog is at 65 MPH in a kennel in the back of a Truck on the highway. No you cannot since you are not behind your truck. Put your wife in the bed instead. ;) This shouldn't be funny. But it is. LOL Each state has their own rules regarding animals and traveling. NY and California have the strictest rules that I know of. Here in NC, you don't even have to have your dog tied in the truck bed. You don't have to have your kids tied in the truck bed! Check the laws and use common sense.Re: Where can I find these?Dr. Smith, No I haven't seen the trailer in person. But I've seen a ton of pics. It's really clean. I only put a down payment on it. He'll get the rest of the money when I get there and test it. He had it listed at 17 ft. I looked it up and there are 3 models that year at 17 ft. The RV place closed at 5 today. So I'll have to go back tomorrow. QUESTION: If I get AAA, will that cover my trailer too? And how much will it cost annually to insure it?Re: Where can I find these? The seller doesn't know the model. But it doesn't have a shower/bathroom. bed & bunk at front, bed & bunk along the side opposite the sink/stove/frig. And dining area in the back. I am either going to "try" and put a bunk over the dining area so i can remove the table and one if not both seats so I can take a dresser with me and my potty. or I will put a curtain in front of it like that bed is in another room. it just seems like a waste of space otherwise. the bed & bunk across the side, I want to build shelves to hold my Backwoods Home anthologies and a few collectibles (these will stay packed until I get to a stopping place for awhile). the bed/bunk in the front will hold my slot machine and stereo. and somehow, someway, I will put a shelf all the way around, 20 inches from the ceiling and roughly 15 inches wide to put my favorite Lego city items on (again, will have to not be moving). I can envision all this. making it happen may be an entirely different matter. lolRe: Where can I find these?Thank you Dr. Smith. Even with a weight distribution tow, it will still be bouncy? Even at a rather slow rate? And when I get to Cali, the guy who painted my tailgate will be tasked to paint my trailer. It will be called The Maggot, Marvin the Martians space ship on one side and KISS on the other. I can't count how many times I was rear ended in Fresno. But when Marvin and K9 were painted on, not a single accident since. :)Re: Where can I find these?Awesome. There is an RV dealer near me. I imagine they will have the brake controller and 7 way plug and whatever wiring I'll need. I think I'll head over there now. Oh, one more question: the seller said I could use a small gen that is bolted down (tongue maybe or roof?) so my air conditioner can be on for my animals when I'm driving. Is this safe and if so, any suggestions on where to install this? Ok, it's two more questions, lol: Shocks or springs? (my handbook states total trailer weight should not exceed 3500 lbs. and total gross not to exceed 6500 lbs.) The trailer weight is 2200 lbs, there will be some mods inside but no where near 3500 lbs worth. So I'm good on that. I don't think I have 3000 lbs worth of stuff to put in the bed so I should be good on that too. There is a Flying J near enough that I can go and weigh it when I'm ready to leave. And yes, I do have a shell on my pickup. All my worldly possessions will be hauled in the back of my truck. Only thing that will be in the trailer are my babies. I had heavy duty shocks installed on the back because I used my truck in Cali to do shows and then loaded it down when I moved back to NC.Where can I find these?I will be picking up my 2002 Casita this week. Prior to going, I'm having an oil change, tune-up, brakes changed, tires rotated and hitch installed. The person I'm getting the TT from said it's not set up to use a sway bar. However, he said I could something to help the brakes work on the trailer. This is my first trailer and my babies are going with me (for those of you with curiosity, that would be my elderly dog, elderly cat and my baby boy who survived Distemper only to develop CH from it). So, does anyone know what kind of wiring I need for this, what kind of wiring do I need for a 7 standard plug, do I need an extra cooling system for my truck? I have a 1988 toyota pickup 4 cyl. with a 22R motor, one owner (me!) So as you could imagine, it isn't equipped with anything. Can you point me in the direction to purchase these items? Oh, I won't be in a hurry while traveling either. I doubt I'll ever go faster than 55.Re: Is this feasible?Thank you! I'm still in the gotta think of everything stage. I wanted something a little bigger since I will be living in it full time and I wanted to give my animals enough room to be comfortable. Is this feasible?I got to thinking about this idea and I'd like people's input about it. Would it be better to spend probably 3-4 thousand dollars on a camper like a Scamp or Put my shed ( 8.5 ft x 12 ft)onto a carry on trailer? I talked to my neighbor about it. He's willing to help me build the deck and do the electrical work. So I would only be out of pocket very little. This would make more room for my pets. 8.5 ft wide is the maximum width allowed. I don't want to be pulled over because an officer thought I was over. I would get the reflective white/red sticker to go across my trailer and mark the tape in case of this. Thoughts?Re: Would you buy this?Hey Mitch, Yes I have the 22R. I don't much have the strength anymore but there was a time when I could take my entire engine area apart, clean it and put it right back in. Not bad for a girl :) It's a 4 speed manual. It has a camper shell on it and I'd go all Beverly Hillbillies on it to put a movable covering between the trailer and back of my truck to cut down the wind trying to stop me. lolRe: Yipee I WonLOL I had this saved in my watch list. I just wanted to know how much it would go for. It's nice!
