I took the inside locking mechanism apart and removed the 4 section light bulb and checked it with another 12v power source. The bulb works fine. In checking the plug that comes out of the wall that connects to the terminals on the light bulb, I am getting no power to the plug. Anyone have any idea what to do next in order to try and get power to the plug to the light.Tires for a R Pod 172 camperFellow Campers: I am sure that this subject is discussed in depth somewhere on this forum, but am seeking advice on tires. I have a 2010 172 R Pod camper that I bought from the original owner. I have had it now for about 6 months learning all about it and seeing how all of the appliances, etc., work. I have not taken it on a camping trip yet. In looking at the tires, I think the ones that are on it are probably the original tires. I did not ask the po if he had ever changed them, and he did not use the pod that much, so, I think they are probably original. Needless to say, i want to change them before I put it on the road to go camping. What tires would you recommend? What do you have on yours? What to buy and what to stay away from? This camper is small and is a single axle. Trailer weight empty is about 2700 lbs. Any advice will be greatly appreciatedRe: Chrysler Aspen AWD differential fluidOnly issue I posted was the fuel splash back problem. There were several responses to that post, but that was my only real issue. And, if you will go back to that post and read my update, you will find that my dealer and Chrylser were kind enough to listen to my complaint and cover the cost for a diagnostic test and repair of my vehicle. No cost to me. On the differential issue, just asking for advice, not beating up service provider. If you took it that way, that is your problem. My service provider and myself have a very good working relationship, through vehicle purchases and service after purchase. Planned to stop by tomorrow and ask my service rep about the difference in fluid, but just thought I would post here tonight and see if anyone had had any experience with the same fluid in both differentials. I HIGHLY recommend my provider to anyone looking for a Dodge, Chrysler, or Jeep vehicle and if anyone wants to pm me, I will gladly give you their name and location.Re: HELP!! Need advice-Chrysler Aspen/Manufacturer IssueUpdate on fuel splash back problem: Got a call from my dealer on Tuesday and my service rep. told me that he had contacted ChryslerCares and for me to bring my vehicle in at my convenience. Chrysler had agreed to cover the cost of a diagnostic test and if it confirmed that I did have a splash back problem, they would cover the cost of the diagnostic test and the cost of the fix for my vehicle. Carried Aspen in on Tuesday afternoon. My dealer did the diagnostic test and confirmed that I did have the splash back problem. Picked up Aspen today around noon, and first place I headed was a gas station. PROBLEM SOLVED... AND, thanks, to my dealer and to Chrysler for hearing my concern and repairing my vehicle.Chrysler Aspen AWD differential fluidJust had all of my fluids changed at the dealer in my 2008 Aspen. In reading my manual, the front differential calls for 75-90 fluid and the rear differential calls for 75-140. Drove home and was looking over my bill from the dealer and they placed 75-140 in both differentials even though the front calls for 75-90. For those of you that have Aspens, Durangos or maybe other AWD vehicles, is this a big deal or will it be ok. Do I need to go back to the dealer and have the proper viscosity oil put in as per the manual? Thank you all for your advice.Vehicle Keys - Key Fobs - Locked OutI bought a Chrysler Aspen about 2 weeks ago and only got one key and fob in the sale. Yep, you guessed it, yesterday I was changing the transfer case fluid and had my keys lying on the seat. I guess my arm must have hit the lock button and I managed to lock my keys inside the car. After about 2 hours work, using every coat hanger in the house, some wooden wedges, and a piece of bent 3/8 inch rod, I managed to hit the unlock button on the drivers side and retrieve my keys. I have a couple of questions. Can I have just an entry key made at Lowes, Home Depot or some where else that has a key making machine and will it open the door manually without the fob? If so, I will just have about 3 made, one for the wife, one for me and one to keep stored somewhere. Also, if I wanted to get a fob, with all the auto features on it, is there anywhere I can get one without going to the dealer and paying an arm and leg? Thank you my friendsRe: HELP!! Need advice-Chrysler Aspen/Manufacturer IssueI don't feel like I am "owed" anything. What I had in my possession when I went to the dealer was a copy of the TSB that Biscuit has in this post. Back up and read it if you will. It specifically says 2008 Aspens. That is what I have. The Service Rep went to his computer and pulled up the info on my particular Vin number. The recall was for Aspens manufactured from Feb 1 thru April 1, 2008. My Aspen was manufactured in June. It does not state the dates involved anywhere on the TSB, It simply says 2008, so I was under the impression that ALL 2008 Aspens were covered. After the Service Rep explained this to me, I was wrong to "question" him any further and continue to push my point. The "fix" is a complete replacement of the gas tank, not just the filler tube, according to the rep and i do not have the money right now to do this. Hey, I will live with the problem. I have done all that I can do at this point in time. I have filed a complaint with the NHTSA. I will live with the problem. I will let my Aspen run down to close to empty and then slowly put in about 10 gallons of gas. No problem. I am retired and have the time. Other than the splash back problem, I LOVE my Aspen. Thanks to those that have offered constructive advice and criticism to me on this issue. I appreciate it. As I: mentioned, I feel that I have done all that i can do on the issue at this point in time. Please honor my request, if you will, and lets just drop the subject at this point in time. Thank youRe: HELP!! Need advice-Chrysler Aspen/Manufacturer IssueRickeoni: I appreciate all of the input that I have received on my original post from every one. I understand that the dealership cannot fix my car if the manufacturer says that it does not fall under the guidelines of their call back. I have purchased 3 vehicles from them: used Dodge Ram truck and 2 new vans, one for each of my 2 daughters. Yes, they have done all of the service work on all of these vehicles. And, no, back when I was working, I did not work for free. I worked for 37 years as an engineer prior to having to go out on disability from injuries I received from fighting in the jungles of Vietnam. And, no, they do not work for free either, nor do I expect them to. And, you say their are 3 sides to every story. I beg to disagree. If there had been 15 people standing around during our discussion, you would probably get 15 different answers, thereby having 15 different sides of the story. In this case, yes, there was 3 sides: mine, the Service Rep. and my wife. Talk to all of us separate and you will get 3 different stories. Yes, I made a mistake by getting somewhat "heated" when I had documentation that, to me, seemed to say that my car would fall under the call back. Evidently, it did not. At that point, I should have dropped the subject and followed up with Chrysler Corp if I wanted to pursue it any further. My bad, I made a mistake. I should not have taken out my anger on the Service Rep. Does this answer all of your questions. You can reply if you want, but you will get any other response from me. My personal life in none of your business.Re: HELP!! Need advice-Chrysler Aspen/Manufacturer IssueDid go to dealership to get recall fixed. Your assumptions are wrong. Have bought my second and last vehicle from this dealershipRe: HELP!! Need advice-Chrysler Aspen/Manufacturer IssueOld Biscuit: Any ideas how far down spout I should run 3/8 tubing? All the way to bottom of tank, right at top of tank, half way down spout, trial and error. Really don't have any idea. Have filed report with NHTSA. Heated discussion, my bad, just should have left dealership
