Re: vent pipe for fresh water
I installed a check valve in the fresh water tank overflow to get the maximum amount of water in without causing a syphon effect. Also to refill while dry camping, I use one of those blue hard side water 5 gallon cans from Walmart, unscrew the little fill valve in the lid and screw in a standard water hose. It works wonders.

My father inlaw had the same issue. We just took apart the head and removed the control ball inside and now it works fine.

I camp twice a year at the racetrack with no services. As a backup to the battery I bring a fully charged jump box to throw on overnight so I don't have to run the generator.
