I would not let someone test drive without me along. Beside I'm talking the whole time about the MH and where to turn on the drive. I have also only ever bought privately as well and never had a problem. The seller is probably going with his gut feeling as well. Works both ways.Re: How nimble is a 35' Class A motorhome?I think MH size is not the biggest factor. IMO it depends on what type of camper you are. We don't have a toad with our 30 ft Class A and for the most part don't miss one. My DW and I can go up to a week before we might need something. Having the bikes along is always good too. Some folks at CGs can't seem to sit for even a couple of hours before they start the car or truck and go off somewhere only to return a short time later. We do our sightseeing on the way so we can just sit when we arrive. Full timing would be a whole different story. We're just not there yet.Re: Blowing out water linesI have blown out the water lines in our various motorhomes for almost 30 years. Prior posts have described the procedure. Just take your time and you will be fine. For the past 10 years I have also removed any water in the traps with a turkey baster with tubing attached and just suck it out. As long as all the holding tanks are dry and clean you won't have any issues. Only antifreeze I use now is a little bit in the toilet bowl so the seal doesn't dry out. If I recall, many years ago it was an RV dealer that told me to just blow the water out. Besides, that's what folks do with underground sprinkler systems up here. They do need a lot more air volume though.Re: Triple E Embassy - Help NeededWe have a 30 foot 2003 Triple E Embassy, the A30G with the XL package. Have now had it for 3 seasons and love it. It only has 23,000 km or about 14,000 miles on it and we want to start driving it further next season. Actually see a number of these on the road every summer. If you have any specific questions let me know.Re: Winterizing RVI have blown the water out on the last three MHs now and never had any issues. Just take your time and blow until the water mist stops at all the facets. I also suck the watewr out of the traps so nothing can freeze in there. I do however pour a bit into the toilet so the seal does not dry out.Re: Do you chock your wheels? We never chock but also never lift the rear wheels either. Sometimes the front come up while leveling but its rare and I still don't chock.Re: Anybody use a battery minder?I use one for the Chassis battery and one for both 6 volt house batteries. On the 6 volt house batteries I use the clips and for the Chassis battery I use the 12 volt accessary outlet inside the MH. Like "old guy" says, I use one on every thing I store with a battery in it.Re: Buying a Class A without slides??That was a good deal for up here. We presently have a living area slide and I don't think I would go back to a no slide unit now. I was important to us that we could use the MH with the slide in while traveling.Good luck in your search. The more you look the more you will learn.Re: Concrete driveway or pavers for A?The pavers would work but the area must be properly prepped as mentioned before. I have my pad made of 4 inch concreate with rebar. There are no cracks after 10 years but the base was really compacted gravel on top of undisturbed clay.Re: Disconnecting Cleaning Bat Cables & Terminals JimM68 wrote: You can check the individual cells on your 6 volts with a meter, put the black on the ground terminal, and just stick the red in the cell, just in the electrolyte, you will get readings, 2 4 and 6 volts as you go down the line, more or less. If a cell is dead it will be obvious. I have never heard of this method before and never would have thought to put the probe into the battery acid for a reading. I can't wait to try this myself. Great test for each cell. Thanks for the idea.
