The problem with buying a salvage would be the area that is typically damaged is the cabover area. plus we need a bigger camper :-). Having 4 kids makes a camper get small quick. Thinking about getting a bunk house TT or a 5th wheel.Re: Van Dually Tow VehicleOne advantage is the Motorhome is paid for. :) another advantage is the ability to tow a larger trailer or 5th wheel because of the high gcvw of the E450 chassis cab. My wife also said she like the truck with the large windows. As we all know what momma wants she gets. ;-)Re: Van Dually Tow Vehicle Another example the one my wife likes.Re: Van Dually Tow Vehicle Here is an example of what I'm trying to build.Van Dually Tow VehicleI have an old 1998 Tioga 24d that the home has rotted off of. So my plan is to part the motorhome out and use the funds to build a tow vehicle out of the cutaway chassis. I have found a company that sells cab backs that will convert my chassis cab into a dually. It would look like one of the old Centurian TVs. I know the chassis is in good shape with low miles and a v10. So I would be able to tow just about what ever TT I wanted.Re: Diesel vs gas......................I want to know where gas is for 2.83 a gallon because i live in Sc and can't find it for that. I will buy it all and make a killing reselling it!Re: Diesel vs gas......................I agree with you about the big rigs being diesels. I own a lot of trucks in my businesses. the ones that are on the road alot pulling heavy weight are all deisels. The farm trucks that sit most of the year are all gas. I just can't get myself to buy a diesel to let it sit around.Re: Diesel vs gas......................I thought this was a discussion of the merits of Deisel and Gas Tow Vehicles. Could the administrators Please make a Sticky or post for the price wars we have going on so we can discuss tow vehicles?Re: Diesel vs gas......................I believe we all bought our TV's because we wanted them. I have had diesels and Gassers. I currently own an excursion with the V-10. It fits my life style perfectly. I could afford the vehicle when I bought it. I paid cash, so I can afford the gas required to drive it. If I had a payment to make and had to buy gas. I would get a diesel sprinter van. I know from past experiences if you have to haul full time a diesel is the best vehicle.Re: Diesel vs gas......................I have a Ford Excursion V-10 and have had a 7.3 Crewcab Dually. I see the advantages for both. I drive 5 miles to work and the excursion sits most of the time. My dullay had alot more power when towing. I believe people should be happy with what they own and don't cut on anyone elses choices. I have seen all the data from the diesels and the gasers. I like my choice because it fits my families life style. Would I take a cummins tourbo diesel. Let me put it this way. HELL YES! I love the sound and smell of diesel. but it doesn't fit my life style right now. Maybe in another 100,000 miles when the price conversions for my excursion goes down. My final thought is CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!
