Is Rt 20 a good route to get to 97 or should we go farther up 395 to 3?Re: Roll Call Alaska 2018Hello, count my wife and I in. We will be leaving in early July and plan to take a western route. We want to cross Idaho and the. Turn north to Alaska. Our first trip in 2016 was grand as we hit the Badlands, Mt Rushmore, Glacier, Waterton, Banff and Jasper on the way to Dawson Creek. Came home at the end of August. A great start on retirement. This year we pLan to fish on the Kenai, visit friends made and run the birddogs. Any suggestions for the travels through Idaho and north? RichRe: Roll Call Alaska 2016I haven't posted much, but my wife and I are in Denali and taking the bus today. Plan to spend some time I'm in Delta Junction next then head back in the next week. We have had a great time.Re: Roll Call Alaska 2016 DakotaCamper wrote: CountryRoad REV wrote: We are also in Kenny Lake Campground, parked in the woods without hookups. You will enjoy.Re: Roll Call Alaska 2016We have made it to Inga Lake after spending last night at the Rotary park in GP. Bought fuel at 91.9 in GP. It was 99 where we purchased in Calgary. The trip and time in Waterton, Banff and Jasper were incredible even if the road to Cameron Lake was shutdown. We have already seen 2 grizzlies and 4 moose. We drove the bighorn route to GP (rt.40) lts of truck traffic on the GP end and we were given 2 chips in I our windshield. Purchased a repair kit and we are hoping they don't get bigger. We have spent 23 days getting to this point and the summer is young. Plan to fish more from this point going forward.Re: Roll Call Alaska 2016My wife and I croseed the Canadian border yesterday with no issues after spending a couple of days in the Badlands and Glacier National Park. We are currently in Waterton and despite the weather enjoying the scenery and wildlife. We purchased some souvenir clothes at great prices in Waterton - the exchange rate helped a lot. Our canoe has been inspected 3 times(all in the US) and has not been in the water. That will change in Alberta. We have met lots of great folks and look forward to meeting I others. We have taken our time and plan to stop in Banff and Jasper before heading to Dawson Creek.Re: Roll Call Alaska 2016Hit the road on the 5th, almost as planned. The drivers side rear slide would not come in and we had to talk to Tiffin and the we're very helpful as we only left 1 hour late, but had to stop at Northside RV in Lexington to have a controller replaced. It was under warranty and I could not be happier with the service from Tiffin or the RV shop. Made it to Louisville where my wife cut her hand and we went to the emergency room for 5 stitches. Left the Louisville Cabelas and spent the night in Fulton, Missouri where diesel was less than $2 and spent the night at Walmart. We made it to Pender, NE today where we will spend 3 nights at the Blue Ox campground before heading across SD. It's all new territory from here to Montana. Safe travels.Re: Roll Call Alaska 2016Thanks everyone for the responses, we will be driving a pusher with a RUFFINIT license plate towing a silver Colorado with a green canoe on top. We will cross in Montana after visiting the Blue Ox factory in Pender, Nebrasks. We going to rake our time and enjoy.
