Towing our Jeep we get 9-12 mpg based on wind and speed. It’s rated 30amp (which means 25amp continuous) and no problem with TV-1amp, fridge-3amp, water heater-4amp, AC-16amp all running. We turn off AC-16amp to run Microwave-12amp. IMO, know your ‘amp draw’ for everything in your RV. We keep amp info on a 3x5 card for reference. We NTE 25amp on our 30amp converter. Easy to figure: Amps = watts divided by volts (120v). Watts = amps X volts (120v).Re: Front wheels lockedOuch... I toad a 2010 JK Wrangler (all four down on pavement), tranny and transfer in neutral, steering wheel unlocked, and have never heard of this problem. Last trip was Seattle to New York and back. Zero problems. Please post results of your final diagnosis... that’s a serious problem. I can’t imagine being on an interstate or heavy I-5 traffic in Seattle and having that lock-up happen. Very dangerous. Glad everyone is safe.Re: Looking for best options for towbar for a new JeepI have a 2010 Jeep JK Wrangler Toad: Currie Tow Plate, one piece heavy steel, bolts directly to Jeep frame (into existing frame holes) with grade 5 bolts. Chrysler Regional rep told me to steer clear of Blue Ox and Roadmaster on JK because directions called for drilling and cutting frame, voiding Jeep warranty. Currie plate he said actually functions as another frame cross member and strengthens front end of JK. Blue Ox Adventurer Tow Bar, with added stainless steel coil safety cables. Roadmaster Tow Lights (RM-155), which run off my RV wiring harness.Re: TPO Roof Sealant...?Hi Randrx2 and Road Dog, My Winnebago roof is definitely not fiberglass. Motor Home Component Information (MHCI) sheet for my 2014 Minnie Winnie, failed to list the actual roof material used on my RV. So I wrote Winnebago with my RV model (and serial number) and received this reply: “I have attached documentation of the Dicor TPO Roof that you have on your motor home.” Information Winnebago sent to me was for BriteTEK TPO Plastic roof made by Dicor Products. So... my Minnie Winnie roof is not fiberglass, not EPDM (rubber)... but TPO Plastic (thermoplastic olefin). Dicor website calls it a thermoformed flexible plastic.Re: TPO Roof Sealant...?Hi John and Joey, That’s a problem, open that huge tube of sealant, use 1-2 oz. and do what throw it away??? I understand buying construction sized tubes if I was removing and replacing a couple vents or re-sealing the entire roof edge. But for small annual maintenance repairs of a seam 1-2 inches it appears expensive, wasteful and illogical. I can find quality marine sealant in smaller maintenance sized, re-closable tubes... but not RV sealant. IMO, opportunity missed by the mfr. Ho-hummm...Re: TPO Roof Sealant...?Hi Randrx2, Yep, our 2014 Minnie Winnie has a TPO (plastic) roof. I only hope it’s as tough as that plastic covering my steak last night. I use Murphy’s Oil Soap and a super soft brush to wash it (maintenance). I do wish it had been built with a full fiberglass ‘cap’ type roof (zero leaks).Re: Class C without over cab beds?Wish there was an option for twin or queen bunk in overhead. We'd prefer a twin size bunk and it would bring front curve in alignment with windshield reducing the windage and weight on front axle.Re: Finally, an RV Manufacturer that gets itOur Minnie Winnie came with thermal panes and we really like them. One issue ignored by industry is height of ceiling, bed, cabinettes, etc. Horse and stock trailer industry has it figured out... stnd and tall top. Tall top is 6" higher than standard top. Why... not RVs? I'm at Camping World... a lady checking out tells the clerk "dang microwave in our new Class A is so high I have to use a stool to reach it". The couple behind them in line says... "ya I had to buy a stool to get into our bed". The clerk looks at me, and I say "I agree with them, first thing we bought was a stool as our ceiling is crazy tall and my wife can't reach any cabinettes". Seems RV industry could offer a standard top and tall top. 6" lower standard top would also reduce hwy windage by 4 square feet. And think about the weight reduction with 6" lower side walls, etc.Re: Airless valve extendersThanks J-D great information... Excellent pictures made your point. I learn something new everyday.Re: Ford E350/450 or Chev 3500Thx Rolin great review, esp on E450. My dealer was clueless about 3500 axle ratio and it's mpg effect. He guessed at my Minnie Winnie 25B Chevy 3500 ratio, but said he could be wrong. I went to a Chevy dealer, gave service mgr my VIN and he printed off the actual 'build sheet' for my 3500... rear axle ratio is 3.73 Your experience with moving Ford driver seat both up and back is not unique. Your steering issue is not unique either. My Chevy Silverado 3500 steering is perfection. My Chevy Express 3500 chassis with MW 25B Class C front overhang has a severe oversteer problem. Next two months running from WA to NE to NY and back. After that trip I'll have front end realigned and put on super heavy duty shocks. I was told once when replacing shocks to always replace all four at the same time. Thx again for sharing...
