Interesting. Something that can't be fixed/patched with pop rivets or duct tape. :B Pop Rivets is a new one to me. For me it was always WD-40 if won't move and should or Duct Tape if it moves and shouldn'tRe: How many Ham checkins next 24 hoursHI from Central PA, WA3UOE Frigid weather here around 20 degrees. Retiring soon so next year I'll be in warm weather. PatRe: Honda EU2000i gas cap rattle.I just got a new EU2000 and the cap rattles. My cap is one that clicks when it is tight but the top part moves when you touch it. I think they changed the cap.Re: *UPDATE*Calling Duramax owners 1st trip with camper bad fuel mileageMy 2006 LBZ gets 10-11 MPG pulling a 15,400 lb. fifth wheel. The 2 things that make the mileage change for me is speed (I usually run about 64-65 mph) and mountains. I just did a trip with the truck alone with about 1000 Lb. in the bed and got 17+ mpg. PatRe: How do I replace these with LED lightsI believe 1971duster340 is correct. The glass lens has some tabs that twist into the metal frame. Pop the whole frame and lens down so you can hold the metal frame from turning and the turn the glass counter clockwise about a quarter turn. If it is the same lens as I have you will break off the tabs if you try to pry the lens off.Re: Greasing EZ Lube TT axlesEvery 2 years I pull the bearings and wash the grease off them so I can inspect the races and rollers. There is no way to see if a bearing is damaged and ready to fail unless all the old grease is removed. I did mine last September and found 3 of the 8 bearing showing signs of wear that would eventually cause failure. I replace the 3 bearings and repacked them by hand. I figure I am good for another 2 years. I have the EZ lube bearings but want to inspect the bearings.Re: Country Haven now KOA near Lancaster PA area? You should check out Country Acres Campground. It is on RT30 about 7 miles East of Lancaster, PA. They have some large pull thru sites. I tend to stay in state parks but there are none in the Lancaster area that have camp sites. http://www.bird-in-hand.com/places-to-stay/country-acres-campground/property-layout/Re: Advised not to repack bearings???I have the EZ lube axles and always repack the bearings. You can't see any bearing damage unless you clean off all the old grease. Last year I had 3 of the 8 bearings with signs of damage and I replaced them. It's cheap insurance from having a bearing sabotage a trip.Re: An under-performing furnace. The fix... CJW8 wrote: The lost art of hand lacing. I have seen miles of this in control panels. I have done miles of lacing in electronics gear for the military. It brings back memories. I still have several rolls of the waxed lacing.Re: Portable or hardwire surge protector. It looks like the Universal Lock is made of plastic. Can someone that has one comment on how strong the plastic is? It seems like a set of cutters could snip off the lock tab. I guess it might keep a casual thief out.
