Holiday travel, holiday response times - i don't expect anyone to be working a call center on JULY 4th. just because .. unless of course call centers are in India. in the same effect, holiday pay for a tow truck is typically higher on holidays. and if there's a limit to how much GS will pay then, that's the facts of life. waiting for the next day to take care of business is exactly why GS pushed you to the next day, because of Holiday costs. speculation is all i can offer, but why not. it's a forum, discuss amongst yourselves. in the mean time, having a breakdown sucks, flats, deer strike, birds in your windshield, bee in your bonnet. the failure we experience becomes experience, learn from it. Traveling specificly on a holiday is a bad idea, traffic, the off chance you need a tow truck and there's a limitation on spending amounts the tow company contacted offers to GS. I'm fairly sure you could have called a tow truck and paid for your own tow, at the cost of holiday tow truck pay. GS, AAA, personal coverage.. even tho old camping world presidents Club towing plans all have limitations. I had an alternator diode fry, and i couldn't find a replacement within range of walking so i used my SUV's bought warranty, since it's an older suv.. I called warrenty service because they could tell me exactly what repair shop i could use that was open on a saturday to at least drop it off. Also, having it go to a dealership would permit me to have a rental car at a discounted 50$ a day rate. .. the tow truck was only covered 50$ I had to pay the remainder of the 200$ tow fee. I could have used AAA, or any roadside assistance company to tow me to the designated repair facility, but I did not. so thank you for your post, I learned to carry multiple tow service accounts, including insurance towing and rental just incase you learn you don't qualify for say "towing" or "rental" ect.. I guess that's the name of the game, be prepared! In the case of a dead battery, alternator. -- get one of those chargeable battery backups for your cell phone - your going to be on hold A LOT when things go wrong. it helps if you get one of those solar chargeable ones, of course at night. not so much0Views0likes0Comments
