Your install looks similar to flyfisher86. I was considering putting a panel behind the Heki skylight. It looks like a shade free area and would allow easier access across the roof. The 2nd panel will either go on the passenger or the driver side lengthwise.Re: New Solar SystemHi Mark, I too am installing a solar system on my Northern Lite 10-2. I bought 2 GS-S-100-TS panels and have been debating where to put them. Where did you put yours? Any shading issues? I have an air conditioner and it seems there isn't any way to avoid it.Re: Buying a camper in CanadaIt's a used camper. BC does not register or title campers. The entire issue was largely semantic. When you say camper to the Washington State DMV they look at their computer which lumps trailers and campers together. The nice folks at the DOL in BC provided documentation which I took down to our local office. Then they made a phone call and have changed their opinion. I will have to wait 3 years to get a title though. They issue a registration right away. If for some reason I needed to sell it though I think I'd just be out of luck unless I sold it to someone in BC.Re: Buying a camper in CanadaSuccess! I finally was able to convince our Dept of Licensing to call the BC Dept of Licensing. They now believe that campers in BC are NOT registered OR titled and that their computer is wrong. All I need is the Bill of Sale and the importation documents from Customs. Here's the rub, the State will register the camper with an "ownership in doubt" title. They give you a license plate but you have to wait 3 years for a title. UFFDARe: Buying a camper in CanadaThe DMV in Washington insists ALL campers in BC are registered. No registration, no license.Re: Buying a camper in CanadaThe private party I'm buying from is going to call the dealer tomorrow. He has never "registered" his camper and I assume no one in Canada has ever heard of doing so. I don't know where the US Customs and the state of Washington come up with this stuff. I tried 3 different licensing agency's and all of them were adement that a registration with a release of inerest signiture was required along with the bill of sale and Customs Docs. Weird.Re: Buying a camper in CanadaTalked to the customs agent again and they say I will need a Bill of sale AND the registration release of interest. They agree campers are not titled in Canada but are registered. in the event a camper isn't registered an MSO would be acceptable. I believe that MSO stands for manufacturer statement of origin. The concern seems to be about proving the legal owner is the person selling it. Does this sound right to the BC folks? Thanks, AaronRe: Buying a camper in CanadaThe problem is licensing the camper in the state of Washington. As far as I know Washington, Oregon, and Idaho are the only states that require a camper to be licensed. It doesn't make sense to me but it is the law. In order to do this I have to have the correct paper work from both the US and Canadian Customs showing when and where the camper was imported and that it meets DOT requirements. If I didn't need the paper work I could do as many have suggested and just hand them my passport and drive across. No problem. If I'm going to drive it around legally in the state however I must get it licensed and they will then issue me a title. Just thought someone else out there may have done this recently.Re: Buying a camper in CanadaYep, did that. They want port of entry Docs from the CDN customs and stamped and signed US customs Docs, bill of sale, title or WA state patrol inspection. The state patrol inspection is what takes 3 years. You must wait to see if anyone reports it stolen before the state will issue the title. When I get to the Canadian border I must declare what I'm doing or I won't get my paper work stamped and signed. I don't think Canada cares really but the US Customs requires that I have that when I go inside to get things stamped and signed by them. The part I'm worried about is what the customs agent will do when I don't have a title.Re: Buying a camper in CanadaGetting through customs is the part I'm most concerned with. The state will issue me the registration because they want the money. I'm not wild about the 3 year wait on the title but what can I do about it? Nothing. So I'll wait 3 years. The border is a whole different situation. If they decide to impound the camper then that's what they'll do. No one can tell border patrol what to do, not even the court. Best policy is to have everything that they want when you arrive. When I called them, both the US and CDN customs said that they need a title with my name on it. Impossible. I'm not the first person to do this so I must not have talked to the right people or I didn't make myself clear.
