No falls or issues. How did he figure that out? I showed him once when he was struggling to get in. He has had it from there. Also, no worries about letting air out because he doesn't spend any more time with it open than mom or myself. Why? We have explained, you close the door behind you. Kids want to learn and be independent. Only time we almost had a fall was when he was leaning against the screen door from the inside. He caught himself and hasn't made that mistake again. I explained the screen door latch and showed him that it wasn't very strong. Teach, explain, make the most of teachable moments, treat them with maturity and don't coddle. You may be suprised.Re: The Long, Long TrailerWhat channel?Re: Waste disposal for stationary seasonal locationReach out to the local Porta Jon / Porta Potty company. They will have "grey water" tanks and may have some converted or willing to convert to black water as well. The folks that immediately go to "call the county govt" kill me. If you have access to this type tank there is absolutely no need to get the local officials involved. And no, they most likely will NOT have the answer, and when they don't, the answer will almost certainly be NO. Not being cynical, I have spent a large part of my career working in municipal govt, currently work in a position where I work very closely with the community development office. They do not have all the answers. My favorite local story is a local building inspector who would not sign off on a plumbing job. When the plumber quizzed him he said "because this job isn't done by the book" (the Georgia book of building code). The plumber asked: Do you have the book with you? The inspector pulled it from his trunk. Plumber asked him to show him where in the book it showed his job was incorrect. Inspector said it was his interpretation of the code. The plumber then asked the inspector to flip to the front page of the plumbing code, and asked him to read who authored it. The author's name matched the name on the plumber's business card. The plumber wrote the code. Again, don't leave your decision to the interpret of an inspector or code official when there is no need to bring them in the picture.Re: Coachmen Viking problem & correction RAMwoodworks wrote: RAMwoodworks wrote: RAMwoodworks wrote: rockhillmanor wrote: I would pack up all your pictures and send it off to their corporate office, AND the district office where your coach was built. You might not net any results your self but I'd sure want to let the big guys know about the quality work or lack there of that is going on in their manufacturing. Just saying. I just emailed their service rep and the sales rep for their travel trailer division. We'll see if I get an actual reply or the standard 'Sorry you bothered me' response. Well I did receive a legitimate response from Coachmen about 30 minutes after I emailed them. Stay tuned. Well its been a week and no further communication from the Travel Trailer division. Dissapointing :( Anyone have names or contact info further up the Forest River chain of command? Would you like for me to call Warren?Re: Generator BargainGreat generator and exceptional service after sale and parts availability is great.Re: Cost of campgroundsJust a note of cg cost vs hotel. I attend a conference every year in Jekyll Island. It is basically a week long event. My organization picks up the tab on the stay, so while cost is not an object for me personally, as President I still need to be fiscally responsible. I can/and do stay all week in the campground on Jekyll for what a single nights room rate is to stay at thee Jekyll Island Club Hotel. And to me I have the comfort of my own place following a long day of meetings. There is a lot of value there.Re: Farthest tow..?Georgia to Illinois for Thanksgiving each year. 12 hrs and 794 miles.Re: Where to put bikes? We use a ladder rack for the back of the tt. Works well and when not taking the bikes we have hung the zero gravity chairs there.Re: Constantly supplying antifreeze all winter instead of heat?Another vote for cheap vodka. Careful though, it does sting the eyes.Re: Parking in NashvilleTake Uber. Easy, convenient, inexpensive.
