Shorty Small's is ribs and steak, a little different. Bricktown has a few places and if you like Toby Keith his "I like this bar" is there.Re: NJ to Key West in 4 daysYour route depends on where you are in Jersey. I live near tpk exit 9 and 8A. I still go south on tpk to Del Mem bridge and from there stay on 95 or go south on 13 to 301, then hit 95 just north of Richmond. Route 295 might work also to the DMB. You said you're leaving in the evening so 95 straight down could work just remember to go around Balt on 695, the tunnel prohibits propane tanks. Going around DC just FOLLOW SIGNS for 95 south, you will be there after most of the traffic. The GPS could send other ways thru DC, not good. Make your arrival day the short leg, since you may be required to check in by a certain time. We stayed at Grassy Key last Jan. and had to be there before 5 pm. The car is a good idea. There is a small parking lot on Simonton St., north side of Key West and close to Duval St. All day for twenty dollars. South of the Border, Carolina Crossroads, Coastal Georgia are some overnight stops worth considering. We stayed at the Miccosukee casino, west of Miami on our last night before the Keys. The ride down the Keys will be easy enough, since you know what traffic is like back home. We had no problems at all with the MH and toad. Enjoy!!!Re: Check out this pole dancerThat is NUTS. There are three cubs and luckily mama is off to the left and facing away. Many years ago we had a sow charge us in Pa. She had two cubs up a tree and she was on us in less than a heartbeat. We were lucky, real lucky. The cubs slid down and ran in a different direction. Mama held up and went with them. You can not out run a bear!!!Re: RV Pre-purchase inspection in New JerseyTry RISCO, they are in/near Farmingdale. They are factory authorized for many brands.Re: class A devaluationWhen my three year old granddaughter says "That's my bus" Absolutely, Positively PRICELESS!!!Re: Best day for visit to Key WestWe were there Jan 1st. for a week and stayed at Grassy Key RV. Just go and enjoy, you only have a few days.Re: Nashville Campground SuggestionsWe stayed at the Nashville KOA when passing thru. If you have time go to dinner at "Old Hickory" in the Opryland Hotel, you might want to stay longer.Re: Jersey to the KeysA 101 You are making me reconsider the drive to the Keys. WAY BACK in the day a straight through drive was not a big deal. Daytona for breakfast and we were on our way. Haven't done that for a long time. I know Roanoke Rapids and that looks good as well as the other stops. Treasure Coast shows 4 pull thru sites, I will need to call in advance for a spot. We are not pressured to a timetable and the extra day would not hurt. After the Keys we will be at the Fort and at the American Farm Bureau convention for another week. Thanks for your help.Jersey to the KeysWe will be heading down to Grassy Key on Jan. 1, 2016. Was able to book a week there and it is our first trip to the Keys. My thought is to stay at South of the Border on the first night. I would think just south of Melbourne, Fl. the second night, then a shorter leg to Grassy Key on day three. I will celebrate when we settle in!!!! If anyone has any other ideas on travel and places to stay on the way down, I'm listening. I don't mind #95 south since Jan. 1 should be a good ride through the worst of the congested areas.
