I'm sure someone on this forum knows. They definitely have a lot of potassium, which is why I was not allowed to eat them when I was on peritoneal dialysis. I wasn't allowed anything that was high in potassium.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos john and terry wrote: wny_pat wrote: My son is a full time paramedic. Hate to tell you, but it isn't going to happen, not in the ambulance or the emergency room. You wasted you money. No one is going to plug a unknown thumb drive into their system. They have no idea what is on that thumb drive, and it could take out their system. Have specifically talked to him about this exact subject. He says throw it in the garbage. Sorry! The greatest majority will gladly risk their computers to get life saving information from a thumb drive. Also, all they have to do is scan the drive with their computer's antivirus program prior to opening the drive. Takes seconds...and simply plugging in the drive will not likely transfer a virus. Well, john and terry put exactly what I was thinking. I haven't checked with any of the local ones here, but I certainly wouldn't throw the thing away because somebody on the internet says their son said to. You could be in an emergency tomorrow and you're local EMS people may gladly risk their equipment in order to save a life.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosRight off the coil n wrap web site: "It will handle temperatures up to 212 degrees F or 100 C"Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos TMBLSN wrote: jagco wrote: If any of you has installed the Scanguage yourself, could you tell me just how complicated it is io install it? Hey - a list is a VERY small thing to carry. At least this summer we can travel for the first time in almost 4 years. Prior to that, we had to stay within 1 hour of hubby's hospital. Yeah, right, I said "We can travel" - after two artificial hearts and a heart transplant we are so broke now we can't afford to travel. Anyone else find that ironic like we do? Shari I know exactly what you're talking about. I went through the same thing while I was on dialysis, waiting for a kidney to come along. Had to stay within an hour of the hospital, and could never be away from cell phone (just in case). I finally ended up being given a kidney from someone from our church, after all my friends and family were ruled out for various reasons. Now the meds I have to take eat up most of my check, but it sure beats the heck out of dialysis, and I have become very close to my donor and her family. I can now be as far as I want from the hospital, but who can afford to travel? I still have to be able to find a lab once a month too, to check all my various levels.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosI actually take too many medications, and have too many health issues, to put on a reasonable size wallet card, so I wear a Medic Alert (http://www.medicalert.org/) bracelet. They have all my info, including phone numbers for emergency contacts and doctors. The paramedic or EMT can just call the phone number (it says call collect) on my bracelet and have everything they need to know about me. I believe there are other companies that have a similar program. Medic Alert is just the one I use. There's an annual fee, but it seems very reasonable for what all they do.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos Gfitzgrld wrote: .......it's a travel trailer board. How can you get bent out of shape on a travel trailer board? My sentiments exactly! of course some complainer will jump in here and correct you on saying travel trailer rather than saying RV since all kinds of RVers frequent this board :-) Been corrected a time or two myself, around here, for not using the correct terminology. This is how I know.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos popeye59 wrote: So one AA battery for a 21 foot LED rope light. I'll bet that wouldn't last that long or be that bright. I know, LED's don't draw a lot of power, I'm just saying 1.5 VDC isn't gonna drive a lot of light for very long. That's pretty much what some of the reviews say from people who've bought them.
