If you do the math 7500 watts / 240 volts = 31.25 amps. How can the NEMA 14-50R be rated at 120/240 50 amps?Re: Champion 41537 generator???Thanks to all who have replied. I feel much more confident about my initial thought that the Champion was a decent genny for the money. It was also one of, if not the only manufacturer who gave very candid technical answers when I called about the specs of the engine and alternator. In fact I was rather surprised as to just how forthcoming they were. When I called one of the top well known brand manufacturers and asked the same questions I asked of Champion I was treated like I had asked for the ICBM launch codes. So once again I thank you all your replies it is very much appreciated. BillChampion 41537 generator???The reason for my post is I’m looking to replace my tired and worn Generac PP5000T gen-set and I’m looking to get some feedback from folks that use a generator much more then the average person does. It will be used primarily as emergency back up for my home to run essentials, furnace, well pump, fridge and a few lights. I’m considering the Champion 7500 watt mdl: 41537 for this purpose. Before I go any further I have to state that I would love a Honda but budget just doesn’t allow for it, as it will only be used occasionally. I have been to many sites and have read many reviews but what I find most of the time is reviews that fall into 3 major categories, Those who bash everything if it’s not a Honda, those who complain that they do not like the way the wheels or handles are attached and provide nothing in the way of information regarding reliability or power output and those who bought the generator and used it for 20 minutes testing a power drill. What I’m interested in is the reliability of the Champion generator, which is the reason I’m posting here. You folks have much more long-term experience using various generators then on most of the sites I’ve been to. So I seek your thoughts and opinions. Since this will be used at home in a very rural area noise is not an issue. Thanks to all and I look forward to hearing from you.3 Bill
