I would like to look at A DIY system, But do not know where to find it and compare the costs and lay out of them. I already have had 2 2000i's. But I want a generator that's built into the 5er and runs on the propane so that I don't have to pack different fuels. We don't boondock that often. I wanna try the system alone being charged by the alternator and generator and perhaps adding panels later on.Bluetti inverter/batteriesI am ordering a new 5er. I am trying to match a inverter/ battery set up that will work for me. I have heard from multiple sources about Bluetti, and the price on it doesnt hurt as much. I dont have the specs on the 5er yet, but I do know: 1.I want the 5.5 onan lp generater. 2.I am thinking that I need to be able to support on batteries-2 cpap machines, a residential refrigerator, water pump, lights, tv, and furnace. I know that the model Bluetti that I am looking at has a 30 amp output and 3kw inverter. Just looking for ideas on what else that I need to have supported by batteries (watt hours). I just want to know also a ballpark figure and what to look for on each item to get consumption. I am not looking yet to install solar panels thanksRe: Inverter/12volt-24 volt questionI just got off the phone with Tundra. They are telling me that they repurposed the E series 2000w and now it is a M series. Both 12 volts. I will have to wait until This weekend to get TT out of storage to see where the problem is. Its been a while but I seem to recall that it was throwing a faulty ground code. thanks for your help.Re: Inverter/12volt-24 volt questionIt looks like the M2000 on that website, however on my inverter it says E2000. The plug ins on the back are vertical instead of horizontal. If it makes any difference I bought it in 2013. I have pictures on my phone, I just don't know how to upload them to the forum.Re: Inverter/12volt-24 volt questionThanks for your responses. My original intent was to utilize what I already have to both keep the cost down and investigate a design a system for a future RV. The Tundra is a 2000 watt inverter. Not sure but I think it is a modified wave. My friend did all the wiring and set up for this system. He did so using the 2-6 volt Trojan batteries and it didn't work. I replaced all the electrical outlets on the 20 amp circuit thinking that I had a short. Didn't work. I installed switches to isolate the inverter from the shore power. You most likely saw in my signature the I have a 100 watt solar on my rig. I don't think that I used it maybe more than a few times. It doesn't put out enough energy with the 2 50 watt panels. I would like to learn more on what I can do with my 2 6 volt batteries even if I have to get another inverter. For the time being, I don't need the solar. I would like to be able to run 2 CPAP machines at night. I want to run the refrigerator while driving instead of using the propane. Most likely I could charge the batteries while driving from place to place. Is a 2000 watt inverter large enough to run that 20 amp circuit? Any ideas would be appreciated. ThanksInverter/12volt-24 volt questionHi,I have a tundra 24 inverter that I took out of my Freighter semi and am installing in my tt. I am taking out 2 6volt batteries and repacing them with 2 12volt bateries. Question-how does this affect my 12 volt system? Will the 12 volt lights, fantastic fan etc. be affected?.dirt devil power headI have a dirt devil central vacuum cleaner in my TT. The original head that was air driven. It just didn't pick up good. I have noticed that there are power heads that are powered electrically. It doesn't look like its powered by 110 volts...it takes lowered voltage. I have a 110 outlet net to where I connect the hose to the system. Is there a way to adapt to it or do I need to buy a whole new system? I haven't been able to find one from dirt devil. The trick is to find one small enough to fit in the same space. Thanks!Re: Pick up tool Box extra fuel tankThanks. I looked at the one that you put the link to and it's more than half the cost of the one that I was looking at. Don't know if there's quality involved other than the one from trans flow had a remote fuel gauge to install in your truck. I guess I have to look at a few different kinds of 5th wheel hitches to get a feel for their footprint to make sure there's clearance between the tank And the hitch.Re: Pick up tool Box extra fuel tankThanks. Also considering one with a airbag on it. Also was told by the service dept rep. at camping world that the slider hitch moves from the back forward towards the cab??? For some reason I was thinking the opposite, to give more room away from the cab for turning.
