I figure fully loaded with all my fishing gear & camping stuff I am probably towing 7500 to 8000 lbs. with my 2500 hemi ram 4x4 . I use the 1000 lbs. bars with 0 issuesRe: Starcraft Questions TroyWa wrote: Thank you guys. I got it bought! That rear slide is really neat, an the floor plan works real nice I think. Congrats on your StarCraft purchase . We had a 2000 2406 pop up we camped in for 11 years until we finally traded up to a travel trailer . Had 0 issues with our StarCraft & would not hesitate to purchase another. All TT are built basically from the same materials /appliances . Just find the floor plan you like that you can pull safely with TV you own & go for it ,, Happy CampingRe: can the city water run into the trailer at all times?Guess OP is not to concerned about the water leak . Lots of good advice here but she hasn't respond to any advice for us to better help her . OH Well we triedRe: can the city water run into the trailer at all times?are your tanks full? I would leave the grey tanks open & only open the black tank when it reaches 2/3 full . Are you sure water is from overfilled tanks & not busted water lines?Re: Equalizer Hitch QuestionBest WD/Anti Sway Hitch for the money -nuff said . Just follow the manufactures cleaning/lubricatiob instructions Glad I didn't waste my money on the Hensly or Pro pride system . Towing my 31 ft. Cougar across Galveston/Surfside toll bridge with wind gusts of 50 + MPH with my 2500 Hemi Ram 4x4 & E4 hitch with 0 sway . Glad I got it.Re: Equalizer Hitch QuestionThe only part I grease is the ball. I use the Moly dry lube aerosol for other parts of the hitch head & slide out mechanism . Much cleaner & adds some lubrication without sacrificing the design on the hitch , Sure it pops on tight turns & going over speed bumps ,but if I don't hear it popping I get worried it is not working correctly.Re: Another Newbie TT Delivered By SantaCongrats & Happy birthday Now Happy Camping for you & family Merry ChristmasRe: New RV problems Big Love wrote: You should demand that the manufacturer install a 1" slide out in the bathroom so that the toiler seat can stay up. LOL Now I think this would workRe: New RV problems BillB800si wrote: 2112quote RIDICULOUS That's like saying I can sue Ford because I don't like the way the door doesn't stay open. The hold notches are improperly located. I had every opportunity to discover that before I bought the truck. It's a design flaw, plain and simple but I can't sue Ford or the dealer because of it. ======================= 2112, haven't you watching the news lately. Auto design flaws are being recalled by the millions this past year. If it's a design flaw then the designer ( manufacturer) is completely responsible for fixing it PERIOD.. Don't kid yourself Keystone knew about this problem before they shipped it to the dealer. WOW Can not believe all the Keystone bashing . We have a 2014 Cougar 28 RLS & ALL minor issues were resolved by Keystone & dealer although the 1 year warranty had expired . PDI List (can't stress this enough) This is not a bad design that failed this is a design flaw that OP agreed to upon signing the contract, I opened every cabinet ,turned on all electrical ,checked for leaks while under pressure ,Got up on roof & checked all sealed joints for bad workmanship. All RV manufactures have their issues regardless if its a 10,000 dollar entry level trailer or a 350,000.00 dollar diesel pusher . Did not purchase several different brands of RV'S we looked at because of poor workmanship or bad engineering designs. As stated above if toilet lid not staying up is all that's wrong with the bullet use a little imagination & make it work. Keystones forum has a very detailed PDI List I printed & informed dealer we will go through every item on this list B4 I take delivery of trailer in which the dealer agreed to with 0 issues.Re: Keystone Cougar vs. Heartland Wilderness (Quality)If you haven't purchased the truck yet why don't you check out the 3/4 ton ford gasser? My 2012 2500 Ram 5.7 crew cab was actually lower in Price than the Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi . As far as gas mileage not much difference than the 1500. Better to have & not need than to Need & not have.
