Sometimes they advertise 50 amp and 30 amp is also available at the pedestal JoeRe: snowbird advice needed SoundGuy wrote: Obviously some disagree with me but this makes no sense to me at all. I wouldn't treat our house any differently during winter absence than I would summer absence and at the very least our insurance requires the house be checked periodically while we're away anyway. We do it for friends, they do it for us, it's just no biggie to drop by every 2 or 3 days to make sure all is well, collect any papers, flyers, mail, etc, walk through the place to make sure nothing has changed. In our most recent case something did change for friends of ours ... their adult son had dropped by their house but couldn't get the front door locked again. He texted them 3000 miles away, they texted me, and I popped over for a look - indeed the lock was shot and it took me 3 hrs of disassembly, a run to Home Depot for a new lock, and installation of the new lock. That was my favour to them, I have no doubt they'd do exactly the same for us regardless of the time of year ... just turn the heat down, turn off the water, make sure there are a few lights on timers, and walk away happily known the place will be taken care of. Winterizing an RV is one thing but I can't imagine winterizing a stick house when there's such a simple alternate solution available. I agree 100%...Re: propane ?I just leave it.. It doesn't go bad.. True but after 100' you have to factor in voltage drop.. JoeRe: power cord size? prichardson wrote: #6 for 20 amp #4 for 30 is normal wiring recommendations in electrical codes. This is true .. If you're going to do this all the time it might be cost effective to run a new line underground... JoeRe: power cord size? What is the amperage and receptacle configuration of your power source?? JoeRe: We Need Some ShadeWhen I first started reading your post the first thing I thought of was the 5/4" decking louvered.. Then I see you mention it further down.. I try not span more than 5' so the boards don't twist .. JoeRe: How do you secure your gps? djgarcia wrote: Disneyfix wrote: We bought the Garmin 760rv...how do you secure you gps unit. Worth buying friction mount? I don't think the suction cup it came with will do the trick. Thanks. I use the "bean bag" and set it rigt on the dash board. I think Garmin sells them. Never had one slip loose or off yet:) I also use the bean bag.. That way my co-pilot can pick it up and fiddle with it if necessary...Re: Extra Fridge 2oldman wrote: meganjoe wrote: I went with this...
