It has been there now since November. There is absolutely NO water intrusion anywhere. It has held up under the extreme temps we had this winter as well as snowfall in Md. It has been hotter then 90 degrees most of this summer and it has held up to the heat. I like it as a roof and would reccomend it highly. I have seen it on the fronts of many pickups, as well as on rocker panels and fenders. It holds up. I have a friend that has a Toyota FJ Cruiser. He had the roof sprayed black, to match the truck as he hated the white roof.Re: Heartland Vs JaycoI have had multiple issues with my Heartland Elkridge 29BHCK... Roof failed at 2 years, multiple plumbing issues.... I WILL NEVER BUY andothe HEARTLAND product EVER!Re: powermax upgradeI just put a 60amp Powermax Boondocker in my Heartland Elkridge 5th wheel to replace the WFCO stock unit which failed. PM4B-60. Great unit. Randy was a big help! It replaced my 55 amp stock unit.Re: Roof Coating - Finally applied bedliner to my roof & picsThanks Fred... Yes they tore off the rubber, repaired the rotted areas, and then coated the roof with a primer then the coating. If I can get the pics from the coating uploaded this week I will post them. My wife is out of town with the camera and the phone pics don't show a good image. I will say that the rubber roof was heavier in weight then this stuff. I checked out a 4x4 sample of both at the shop before mine was set to go in. They did a nice job and now it is watertight.Re: which ladderI bought this one for our camper... I carry it in the truck bed. 13' werner... about 3ft tall closed. opens into various configurations to 13ft. http://www.lowes.com/pd_78390-287-MT-13_1z0wcfqZ1z140ir__?productId=1101061&pl=1Re: Roof RepairI have a 34' Heartland Fifth Wheel that apparently had a half cocked repair done, prior to my purchase and had caused a water leak leading to a 2'x2' repair on the roof. I am leaving this job to the pros. The wood has been replaced and I am having a spray on roof applied this week. The material is lighter then the rubber roof (before anyone flames me I have inspected a 4x4 seciton of both materials and it is about 10% lightere in weight then the rubber). It is similar to a bedliner material, not as this, completely maintenance free (no chalking, washing, caulking. While it is not cheap (to have a rubber roof installed here is around $4K and it is $500 more to do the spray on roof. It carries a 20 yr leakfree warranty and it is transferrable. The leak was in an area in the rear of the camper, where a tear was repaired with eternabond type tape and then trim installed over it (with a screw right thru the tape!). Here is a link of what I had found under the rubber. I will post again when it is finished. http://s1221.photobucket.com/user/fd1007/library/RV%20Roof?sort=3&page=1Re: Repairing soft spot in RV roofhttp://s1221.photobucket.com/user/fd1007/library/RV%20Roof?sort=3&page=1 Shows the rubber roof removed, water damage to sheathing and framework, repaired framing and new sheathing panel. Sorry for the order of the pics but it is late and photo bucket has changed since I last used it! I will post more pics as the work progresses and the company sends the updated pics!Re: Repairing soft spot in RV roofI have a similar issue but will be repairing it this week and tearing off the entire rubber roof and replacing it with a spray on beeliner like roof. My soft spot is in a corner like yours but there is no tear. These guys will replace the rotted wood, inspect for further damage and over lap spray the seams in sides and ends of camper. 20 year warranty and no more caulking! Will post pics as job progresses and is completed.Re: Roof Coating - Finally applied bedliner to my roof & picsI am having a spray on roof coating done this weekend. I have a piece of roofing material, under the rubber that needs replacement. This is a spray on bedliner type roof. To have it replaced was slightly more expensive then a rubber roof. The extra $500 spent versus a rubber roof is minor compared to the durability and maintenance free qualities of the spray on. I will post pics after this is completed. BTW the best warranty I can get for the rubber roof is 5 years vs 20 years for the spray on. No, I will not have the camper for 20 years, but, I will have the lack of worry and maintenance as well as a sealed unit so for a 5-7 life that I expect to keep the camper it is worth it to me. http://s1221.photobucket.com/user/fd1007/library/RV%20RoofRe: Best roof protection, coating?I am having a spray on roof replacement done this week on my fifth wheel. It is a product, similar to a bed liner, but lighter in overall weight. I had water damage to my roof and a piece lol wood needs replacement, so while this is being done I chose to have a maintenance free spray on roof applied. 20 year, transferable warranty. No caulking is needed as they spray over those areas. I will post a new thread when it is completed with pics.
