There was a different camper there in previous years. I believe that the foundation is good. The gravel was likely loose last year and settled with my camper sitting there over the winter. I will check the tire pressures again, but I thought they were fine. Stabilizers are down. I realize that it's not rocket science, I was just curious if anybody levelled with a jack or if it was easier to just hook it back up to the truck. I have a 4 ton jack and the trailer likely weighs about 14K with everything in it right now. Thanks.Levelling Fifth Wheel Side to SideOver the winter, my fifth wheel dropped a bit on one side and is no longer level. Is there a way to level the camper without hooking up to my truck? Can I use a hydraulic jack to lift up the camper and put shims in that way? Placing tony fifth wheel hitch onto my truck is quite a bit of work, and I have a heavy duty hydraulic Jack that should be able to lift the camper. I am just wondering if anybody has tried this or if I should just bite the bullet and reinstall my fifth wheel hitch. Thanks and sorry if this has already been. Posted. I did do a quick search on this before posting.Re: slider hitch Dman1 wrote: gtsum wrote: Dman1 wrote: We are in the same boat. We have a 2015 Ram 3500 SRW Standard Box (6'4") with the fifth wheel prep package. We pick up our 2016 Sabre 34TBOK in a few weeks. I have never towed anything larger than a Rockwood Roo 19 hybrid with an SUV, so this is all new to me. I am considering the Superglide and the Andersen. We will likely be camping in a seasonal site most of the time, but we are traveling 2100 km to pick up our camper and will be stopping at four or five campgrounds on the way back...most of which I have never camped at and do not know the terrain, etc. Our seasonal site after that has alot of 90 degree turns throughout the park. Again, I have no experience hauling fifth wheels and that is pushing me to the Superglide as well, so as to minimize the guesswork and giving me one less think to consider when figuring things out. I am not sure if the Anderson will sit back far enough. The weight and the cost are two big factors why I am even thinking about the Anderson, as the removal of the Superglide looks to be challenging. I wish PulRite had a Superglide model that dropped right into the Ram's fifth wheel puck holes. The B&W Companion would be nice, but is not a slider. Any thoughts or suggestions? Anybody with a similar setup, and if so, what do you use for a hitch? Edit: What about using a B&W Companion Hitch (I believe they drop right into the Ram's puck system) and a Reese Sidewinder hitch adapter? I have a 2014 3500 SRW with factory fifth wheel pucks. I went through the same thing as you and ended up with B&W RVK3600 for Ram and then use a 19k sidewinder (2015 Fuzion 345 Chrome). It works great. I am using almost all my payload capacity with hitch, family and pin weight (4074lbs per sticker), so Superglide weight was a concern..as well as sitting up too high (which many have had happen with the newer ram trucks). The B&W hitch is rock solid...love the jaws on it...the sidewinder works slick, but I really wish they made a 19k air ride model (seems 16k is high as the air ride goes). If I go dually, I would likely get a TS3 hitch and call it a day, but for the 3500 SRW with factory pucks, the B&W/Sidewinder combo is great Thanks. I got this setup priced up and was amazed at how much more expensive the B&W/Sidewinder option was versus the Superglide/Picture frame option...hence, I am leaning towards the SuperGlide. I have discussed with other people who haul the newer Sabre's with the newer Rams with the Superglide/Picture Frame option and they say that it's that far from being level. My salesman is pushing the Demco hitch hard. I don't hear much about these so I am a bit leery. So many options to choose from. Aaaaarrrrgggghhhhhh!!!!! Sorry for the late reply. For the record, I went with the Superglide. I know for a fact that this saved me a couple of times and a couple of rear windows. The Sidewinder was not compatible with my trailer (or at least the manufacturer didn't recommend it). I hauled my trailer over 2300 km from Ohio to New Brunswick and there were no worries whatsoever in regards to the hitch...although, with this being my first fiver, I have no basis for comparison. Thanks for all your help, everyone.Re: slider hitch gtsum wrote: Dman1 wrote: We are in the same boat. We have a 2015 Ram 3500 SRW Standard Box (6'4") with the fifth wheel prep package. Yup!Re: RV Direct purchaseWe bought a 2011 Rockwood Roo 19 from RV Direct in 2010 and had no issues, but we did not have to get any warranty work...just a few little things I fixed myself. We drove 2300km to their Elkhart, Indiana warehouse to pick it up. We had a minor issue with the drawer stack after the first night, drove back there, and the gentleman fixed it on the spot. We paid $13,900 US for it, which was around $14,500 CAN at that time, plus taxes of course. We sold it last week for $13,000 after five years of use. In 2010, the best price I could get locally for this trailer was around $25K CAN. We recently ordered a 2016 Sabre 34 TBOK from RV Wholesalers in Lakeview, Ohio and pick it up on June 26th, so we'll see how that goes. Price was $65K locally and $41K from RVW. Even with the crappy exchange rate, we should save around $20K with taxes and everything factored in. Plus they have a Nationwide Warranty Network with a local dealer that is part of his and is only 20km from my house. The distance to this place is around 2100km. All I can say is "vacation"! We will make a fun trip out of it. I am a strong supporter of local business, however, this is just too good to pass up.Re: 5th wheel hitch for 2015 Dodge Showme 5vr wrote: I'm going to go look at a new 2015 Dodge 2500 with the 5th wheel hitch prep package. Anybody have any experience with the hitches that fit this truck? Any idea about what they cost? Thanks in advance!! I have a 2015 Ram 3500 SRW 6-1/2' box with the fifth wheel prep package and I am currently evaluating my options. I am looking at the picture frame adaptor along with the 18K PullRite Superglide. I don't believe that there is an. Automatic slider hitch available that fits right inside the pucks in the bed.Re: Super Glide Dimensions Ram 3500OK, so with the fifth wheel prep package on my 2015 Ram 3500, I have been told that I have two options with the 16K Superglide (email from PullRite themselves). The four digit numbers are the PullRite part numbers: Option 1: 4100 + 4439 + 4409 + Capture Plate - Height of 15" Option 2: 2700 + 4439 + Capture Plate - Height of 18.5" Option 2 should be cheaper with one less component, but option 1 rides lower. Do both of these options work with the prep package, or does one of them require drilling? Which is the best setup to go with? I like the idea oof less components (and likely lower cost) of Option 2, but will it ride too high? Which model Superglide are you guys using? Thanks.Re: Super Glide Dimensions Ram 3500Ok. I have a similar trick to yours, except mine is a 2015 SRW 4x4 Laramie...same color. I have the fifth wheel prep and rear air suspension. I just ordered a 2016 Sabre 34 TBOK and I am trying to decide on what hitch to get. I was looking at the Superglide, but now I am starting to wonder if that setup will work. The new fifth wheels do sit higher so maybe there will not be an issue. I am new to fifth wheel towing, so I am still learning. Any concerns? I like the idea of an autoslide hitch with the short box.
