Looks like I'll be keeping the Champion for the house and looking into two smaller (2k) units and pair them up. Forum has been very helpful as I have a ton of questions. You'll see me around! LolRe: Generator Question Greydennyhawk wrote: Why do you need it at the campground? Cant you plug in? No... Campground doesn't have hookups.Re: Generator Question MrWizard wrote: Is it louder than some people want to hear? ..Yes Is it legal..Yes It happens to be well made, and will work very well And use depends on where you go camping, and how crowded it is etc... The noise police would have you think it sounds like a chainsaw it does not They would also have you think two Hondas running an A/C unit is whisper quiet They are Not Everything is a compromise Thank you! Just the answer I was looking for.Re: Generator Question gbopp wrote: Based on your screen name, I'll park next to you and ignore the noise of your generator. :B Welcome to the forum. Thank you! And I always go camping prepared! :BRe: Generator Question beemerphile1 wrote: Beerlord wrote: Thanks for the honesty! Like I said, I'm new to the rv/trailer scene. What db rating should I be looking at? And is 2k watt enough power or should I look for something bigger? If you have a 30 amp RV that is the same as 3,600 watts. A 2,000 watt generator most likely will not run your air conditioner without modifications. Many use two 2,000 watt generators and pair them together with a kit when needed to run the A/C. For anything other than generic answers create a profile or signature line detailing what you have. When asking tech questions the more info you can give is better. For instance, how many BTU is your A/C unit? Thank you! I thought about running the 2 2k gens paired. Plus they're a lot easier to carry! I'm working on the signature line now. I am a newbie, so I'm sure Ill have a ton of questions. I'm hoping people like yourself to offer up real life experiences. Oh and the AC is 13.5k :)Re: Generator Question ScottG wrote: Any chance you can take it back and trade it for one of the Champion inverter gens? I won it in a raffle so it was free. Actually just thinking about selling it and buying a quieter one. Maybe Honda?Re: Generator QuestionThanks for the honesty! Like I said, I'm new to the rv/trailer scene. What db rating should I be looking at? And is 2k watt enough power or should I look for something bigger?Generator QuestionNewb here with a generator question. I received the following Champion generator as a gift. 1. Is this sufficient enough to run power on a 24' trailer (lights, accessories, ac, etc)? 2. Will this unit be too loud for campgrounds? I don't want to be "that guy" lol. https://media.midwayusa.com/productimages/880x660/Primary/862/862473.jpg
