Thanks everyoneRe: New truck shocksI see you're from NJ...worst roads is right. That's why I have this problem! I'll look into those BilsteinsNew truck shocksI've got a 2009 Silverado 2500HD, at last service my mechanic told me the right front shock was leaking and I might want to consider new shocks before towing this year. Has anyone replace stock with something else? Looking to smooth the ride but still handle the weight of my 7000# trailer. Open to any suggestion. Thanks!Re: "Toddler Proofing"I'd electrify the screen door, but I know I'd be the one getting zapped! I picked up a slide bolt, but the screws would go through the thin aluminum. A short nut and bolt might do the trick, but it's a small area of framework to modify."Toddler Proofing"Went camping for the first time this season and were amazed at what our 1 1/2 yr old could get into. He couldn't get most of the cabinet doors open, but he was great at opening the bathroom door while you were in there. Replaced that with a privacy latch, but the big problem is him messing with the screen door latch! It doesn't offer much resistance as it is and our Summerland sits quite high. If that opened up on him it'd be about a 4' drop to the ground down the metal steps. Anyone have a more secure latch idea, not much room to work with...Re: Just WrongWe're not far from you in Milford and feel the same way!Re: Anyone towing with a '08 GM 1500?I'm not new to towing or leveling loads. The truck is being just about put to its towing, payload limits, and is well over it GCWR. And the weight I got was without food, coolers of ice, water in tanks or the bikes and kayaks in the truck. My 1500 will do it, but its time for something to do it safely...Re: Chevy 2500 factory brake controllerI would figure the P3 would be far superior to the factory. The stock controller is nothing more than a slide with a +/- button. The P3 gives voltage readings and other warnings about you braking system back to you. Which is very convenient when you lose brakes and it tells you there is an open ground or short someplace.Chevy 2500 factory brake controllerPicking up a 2009 silverado 2500 in a few days. It has a factory brake controller installed in the dash, but I want to use my P3. Is there a way to bypass it, or just wire it in through the box under the dash?Re: Anyone towing with a '08 GM 1500?Thanks for all the feed back. Picked up the trailer Saturday and couldn't believe how low my truck sat! Ran it across the cat scale, trailer weighed in at 6940# with 780# at the tounge. Engine and trans did great on flat ground, All the trouble was in the suspension. Stopped and looked at a 2500 on the way to get the trailer just in case...should be picking that up by the end of the week, haha.
