You are towing all the way from Indiana to visit one of most outstanding National Parks in the Country. If you cancel your reservation and try to go Pot Luck on finding a camp site during July, a very busy month for the Park, you may come up empty. Then you could find that the private camp grounds in West Yellowstone are booked. Camp grounds in Cody and the Tetons are long drive each day if you luck out and find one. What would be left for you to try for a the few dry camp grounds that are around the out side edge of the park. This also would mean a long drive in and out of the N.P. which is huge. There are 360 miles of paved roads and trails in the Park just to give you an idea. I would suggest that you keep your reservations and enjoy your time in the park, not driving back and forth. BobRe: Security While On Long TripMy document protection plan is real simple. Purchase a shovel Purchase a water tight box draw map No problem thinking about document theft.:B BobRe: Travel trailer tiresIf that Trailer has not moved for 11 years, I would not move it an inch until I checked the wheel bearings. If they are good, they will still need new grease packed into them. 200 miles on a dry bearing could cause it to freeze up on you and that will ruin your day. Also, inspect the brake shoes to make sure that they will move and have not rusted in place. BobRe: Look before you leaveI am an early riser, so I grab a cup of coffee and walk around the camp ground to get in a little exercise before sitting all day. One Morning I saw a Class A heading out with two hatch doors open and locked in the up position on the curb side. I tried to stop them but they just increase speed and kept going. The first left turn they made would have emptied out both of the storage areas. And, they were full of stuff. BobRe: New to us Fleetwood WildernessIf your "new" trailer has been sitting for 6 years, I would suggest that you pull the wheels and repack the wheel bearings. Plus, inspect the brake shoes, springs, and brake magnets. Nothing will ruin your day as when a wheel bearing goes hot and then locks up. bobRe: Cleaning soot off fiberglass wallAfter cleaning off the soot on the wall, you should take a small round brush and clean the inside of the burner tube. You probably had a spider crawl in there and build a web. That will cause the burner to act up. BobRe: Labor Day and what are your plans?I will be staying on a 2 manicured acre site with full hook-ups with lots of trees for shade. In the evening while sitting out under the awning I will be able to see deer or other critters moving about. The creek is within walking distance. Yup, can not beat camp driveway on a crowded weekend.:W BobRe: Mobile serviceYou may have done this, but just in Case. Google RV Mobile repair services in Wading River NY area. See what comes up. You might have one pop up that is out of area but would respond. BobRe: Personal best forAffinity GroupDo understand what you are saying. My solution is to take it camping with me. No not to read, to start the campfire.:W BobRe: 12V Portable air compressorAnother happy Viair 300 user. I purchased mine 15 years ago when I was going out into the far outback with my Jeep. This year I replaced the yellow air hose because I accidentally pulled a bad kink into the air line. The unit runs my truck tires up to 8o PSI from the 70 I normally drive when not carrying a load. Also, the TT tires go up to 80 also. It rides with me in the truck tool box every where I go. Have used it to help others also., Bob
