I originally contacted morningstar with similar worry about going over the limit on the amperage, answer was it will charge at 15 amps max, controller doesn't use the rest and will be fine. No problems in several years of use now. To connect you'll also need to buy the USB meterbus adapter and download their msview software, then you'll be able to match the setpoints and timings (among a bunch of other settings, its pretty configurable) to the exact spec of your batteries if you so choose.Re: Hatch TrimI have similar stuff around our door and when I couldn't find it at the local rv shop I tried a mr clean magic eraser. Cleaned it up like new.Re: Backing My Trailer. Is This Doable? You've probably backed into smaller campsites.Re: Looking to get into Rv'ing but have questions. BragaPulls wrote: Spouse and I would like to start RV'ing but we are both a little timid with how to get into it. We have been to a couple of RV shows and have a local dealer here who seems really straightforward to deal with. BUT, I have a few questions. 1. We have a Toyota Tundra 4.6L V8, specs are it tows 6800 pounds, we are looking at a Winnebago Micro Minnie 2106FBS which is around 3700 pounds. I am pretty sure this is going to be no problem? 2. Is the Micro Minnie 2106FBS a good buy? Is it a good buy for around 25000 dollars. This is walk out the door price including brake kit, stabilizer bars and everything else. 3. This model kind of fits our needs and what we are looking for but is there anything else we might look at, brand wise? 4. IS there a good website or FAQ here which I might investigate for more info? 5. Just in general, is there anything you wish you had known about RV'ing before you got into it, that you could relate. Impart your rv'ing wisdoms please! :D Thanks much in advance, BragaPulls You might want to confirm the weight of that trailer. Winnebago shows that one to have a gvwr of 7000lb which is over your tow rating. The dry weight of 3700lb is a fictional number based on the empty trailer with no options, you will likely find yourself much closer to the gvwr.Re: US2200 vs T-105For only $10 per battery difference I would go on reputation alone with the Trojans. Seems like a wash :)Re: Can I get help with battery math...batteries-inverter-coffeePlease don't run a generator in the morning, your neighbors will thank you for it. You can get much lower watt single cup coffee makers. I like to get up before dawn and fish from the kayak from a few hours before everyone gets up, so I found a 300 watt single cup unit that works just fine off our inverter. There is this little guy from keurig that is only 700 watts as well. Lots of options for sure.Re: Battery went deadI would also check into your solar setup. Even in cloudy/rainy conditions you should have more than enough charge from 300watts of solar to handle parasitic draws.Re: Noisey House Generator AllegroD wrote: If this MH is going to someone else in Jan, do nothing. You won't get very much back on any installs. Look at the next one and think about what you want on/for it. Would second this, January is just around the corner. Consider solar/inverter on the new rig though, laptops batteries are only ~10 amp/hr and it seems like a horrific waste to charge them via a large generator.Re: 12v marine/deep cycle batteriesIf you're worried about a failure with 2 6v batteries you can always hook up via booster cables to your your truck to get you through a 'short' boondocking trip, power slides/jacks, etc. Otherwise, if you're going to spend the money the 6v are much better value for the dollar and will give you more usable Ah. Kind of a no-brainer. For the 12v, same weight, I'd go with the cheapest from walmart knowing they'll warranty it in the event of failure.Re: The Big and Small Inverter Scam UPDATE-Tested.Another plug for the Cad tire unit, I have the 1000 watt psw version and the first one went bad just before 2 years old. I had kept the receipt and they replaced it on the spot no questions asked :). Second one has been fine ever since. Def don't pay full price, they go on sale regularly.
